Competent-Component@reddit
Any high-end TLC SSD with DRAM.
Fury Renegade, 990 Pro, 850x are all good choices.

Fury Renegade died on me without any warning nor any reason. M%ioght by lack of luck but the loss is immense so I wouldn't risk it if I were you.

My Kingston Fury Renegade 4 TB just died on me without any warning, I lost so much. I can't stress this enough when I say I don't recommand them.
Great-Brilliant8915@reddit
any context why samsung is not trusted?
Alternative_Fan_6286@reddit
their 870 evo sata ssd keep failing and they don't say anything about it. Also the 980 and 990 pro problems at launch (self degrading)

This, maybe?:

CtrlAltDesolate@reddit
That's only relevant for professional workstation grade writing workloads and server usage.
For a typical system it's not remotely a factor, and just one company's experience.
doggydp@reddit
Just trying to answer the question - why the OP is 'off' Samsung ssds.
Small_Caterpillar_50@reddit
check this for reliability: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/tbw-table-for-different-ssds-m-2-2280.320482/
I am heading for the Fury Renegade myself for a NAS due to higher TBW. I tis currently 15 EUR cheaper than the 990 Pros for a 4 TB.
WildChinoise@reddit
I have Samsung in my system. I guess my build predates the their reliability issues.
Bighead910@reddit (OP)
I think it's just the 990 Pro, but that's the only internal SSD they sell with a 4 TB version. Can't risk it.
Sganaway2@reddit
Hi OP, mind giving us some average usage scenario of yours? That would help. Mostly because you're quoting professional usage as "reason why" for this thread
BASSAMKIASSADTEFASS@reddit
Samsung 990 Pro
dhaneeshvl@reddit
If you want best out of general commercial market get Samsung 990 pro.
Any SSD with a DRAM cache will perform well.
ICastCats@reddit
Check /r/newmaxx for a tier list.
I recognise the P3 plus as midrange, NV2 as low end and SN580X as high end.
Check out the high end NM790 from Lexar too.
Low-Blackberry-9065@reddit
r/NewMaxx if you want to research SSDs. I'd get 1 or 3, usually correctly priced and both are top end models.
CtrlAltDesolate@reddit
Samsung > Seagate > whatever else
doggydp@reddit
Nyanta322@reddit
SN850X or Crucial P3 Plus.
sniper_matt@reddit
Seagate firecuda if you don’t want the most reliable brand according to puget systems.
Or anything with dram tbh, especially at that capacity.
doggydp@reddit
Elaborate on the Seagate? Puget tests nvme m.2 ssds???
IanMo55@reddit
Why not Samsung?
Specialist8602@reddit
P3 if not P4. Look at the components used and compare them. I think that's what you're looking at.
marazu04@reddit
Whats up with samsung?

990 pro?
