I am looking to change company’s but not sure where to start. I am just tired of making $600 a week. It’s tough I have tried everything making connections with planners and I only seem to get a certain amount of miles every week? I have heard GP Transco and Nussbaum nothing but good things. You guys who work for a company got any recommendations?
ManxMammoth@reddit
20 months on 600 a week? Are you just sitting around waiting on loads half the time?
Maxxatrillion117@reddit
Make sure you hit the 24 month mark before you move. Apply while you're already still working. You won't regret it.

600 a week is insane, I was getting around 900 with Schneider on the Georgia Pacific account my first year.

Switched from Swift over to Marten about 3 months ago. - paychecks went from 700-900 to 1,200-1,500 - more consistent hometime - APU’s so no being yelled at for idling - almost always planned on next load before being done with current load - Minimum pay of about 1,200-1,400 gross depending on if reefer, dry van etc
Only negative that can be annoying sometimes is they’re pretty strict on their hometime in regards to still qualifying for mininum guarantee but if you dont mind losing it then they dont bother you on hometime

If you're not fat or lazy, flatbedding pays a LOT better!

Are you regional or full OTR 48 states? That's crazy after 20 months, you're paid so little. That's still at the student rate of when you first start.

Damn same boat man , I left after only 3 months , the low pay was one factor of course . But when they started fooling with my home time that sealed the deal , landed a ready mix gig same week I cleaned my truck out . All I can say it’s just keep putting those applications in and following up with the HR departments
JankyMark@reddit
Damn that’s crazy I’m at swift now i definitely don’t plan on staying long
Additional_Low7070@reddit
Man listen I get the whole it’s a great mega carrier good start spiel, it just wasn’t for me I tried to stick it out , the pay and being away from home for that crappy pay just wasn’t cutting it . By the grace of God that weekend I cleaned out my truck I got a call back from a ready mix concrete company in my area and started Traing that week .

That’s good yeah, hearing all the horror stories about swift, I just wanna get my experience and dip. But I’ll see how long I can stay here

20 months. I got my cdl in April and make 1k a week local. Bro value yourself and get out. I don’t even think this is good but what I was willing to take with no experience. Only been here 6 months bout to hop and give my self a 24k a year raise.
JankyMark@reddit
That’s sad, it’s definitely a starter company to get some experience and bounce

Your money problem might be that you’re not driving enough if you have that severe of a porn addiction, OP. Don’t think a company change is going to solve it 🤷♂️

20 months!!! God almighty! You must be the Senior Driver over there!! Idk how you did it!
JustAGuyTrynaSurvive@reddit
If you had 24 months experience I could start you at $1400 / wk guaranteed plus monthly bonuses.
Legal_Mark_2126@reddit
Foodservice, Sysco, UsFoods, PFG, Gordon's, Marines, McLean. It's Ball busting work, but you'll be home daily and definitely make way more than $600/week. You're a prime candidate. You meet experience qualifications.
colleensdoormat@reddit
$600 per week was good 30 or 40 years ago. Time to move on
ohjaimiea@reddit
Def look elsewhere but sign up for per-diem in the meantime before you jump ship. Send a macro 48 for it
lbodyslamrhinos@reddit
Lord almighty you should have left 16 months ago
J_cam202@reddit
Brother $600 a week is trash unless you have absolutely no expenses. Get some endorsements and look for something local or regional utilizing the endorsements and you’ll be making double or triple in no time.
88_Cowboy@reddit
I left Swift for hauling fuel, get your endorsement and look for something more promising.
$600/wk sounds horrible. As soon as I was done with my mentor I move to regional with P&G delivering to Costco in Central Ca. It was 3 runs a week, and I was making $1400/wk after taxes. After they lost that account sometime, I went with a Coke account covering AZ, NV, UT, and CA making anywhere from $1000 to $1800. I was at 85 cents/mile. I can’t fathom making $600, ain’t no way. I hope you have better fortune moving forward…Best of Luck!

If you're still swinging doors after a year, you're just wasting your time. Those companies would be a lateral move. One mega carrier to another. Get some endorsements and find a small 200-300 truck company that treats you like a human being and pays you $2K a week.
RoadStocks@reddit
This. ^
Asking us here will only get you big company suggestions which is what you DONT want. If you want the 2k a week for only 55 hours worked you gota get on indeed and check for work nearby you. It could take weeks or months of looking, fact, but this is the way. If youre ok with 1400 max even with exp then (and thats at best which is bad, its normally less), thats mega life lol

I left swift for food service, haven’t looked back since. 🫡
