She was a pretty terrible candidate and actually moved a bit to the right of Biden in the hopes of appealing to moderates and Never Trump Republicans. Ultimately, I do agree though, you would have to be crazy to think that a female candidate won’t have a harder time. Everyone, including other women, has a lot of internalized sexism that they don’t really recognize. Trump gets away with a lot that Harris and Clinton don’t.

She did state ger opinions on social media and the commercials I saw. Fascism is the political order created by Benito Mussolini and utilized by Francisco Franco. A key tenant is that there is no power higher than the state.
He speaks in buzzwords because that all his followers care about since they're mostly 40+ who just believe the first thing their guy says without doing research
I never said he was “literally hitler” i said he’s a racist rapist, which he is. Whoever said I voted for Kamala based on
the color of her skin as well? I don’t like kamala but i certainly like orange shitstain less, and I certainly don’t care about anybodies skin color regardless
Yes but they also voted for fake promises because he won the first one being "anti establishment" and them was anything but that , why would he be different this time ?
Wasn't the legalization of marijuana a pretty late add-on? I don't remember her saying anything about that early on. I'm guessing that was at least partially done to deflect from her just laughing when asked if she ever smoked weed after she locked up so many for doing just that.
Giving away free money has tons of side effects with taxes and inflation. I would rather just get taxed less than add bureaucracy and give out free money to buy votes
I heard her say she is going to cut taxes for the poor and the middle, but she said it just once or twice. The overwhelming majority is in favour of this, even the rich, and this should have been her primary agenda that she pushed in every rally.
So she was going to cut taxes, which means the government has less money, and she was gonna give out a bunch of money? Where's the money coming from? Or would that have just been the next presidents problem?
The tax on the wealthy and businesses, and all other taxes (sales tax land and house etc) are enough to cover the majority of businesses. Cutting taxes for the poor wont impact government revenue as much as cutting taxes for the rich. Main goal is reduce government spending.
I think she should have spent her entire campaign explaining what government spending was going to be cut, or how things would be more efficient and save money etc. From the things she promised this had potential to be the strongest point and didnt focus all efforts behind it, imo.
She was more insistent on printing money to give to the poor, instead of just cutting taxes for the poor and letting them keep what they rightfully earned.
The border security bill was an amnesty bill that would secure swing states as blue locked. It’s literally the meme where you call the bill the “good thing bill” then you just poison pill it with stuff the other party won’t want then you can say they killed the good thing bill. Can’t speak on anything else other than the child tax credit thing was 1 upping trumps $5000 that he pitched.
Even with 25,000 dollars down. The house prices and interest rates are so high, most Americans still would not be able to afford a home. 6000 tax credit to new families is bullshit and everyone knows it. It means you get a one time payment of 6000. That’s nothing when you have to raise the child for 18 years. Expanding the 2000 prescription cap to the group of people who don’t need it as much is just not enough. None of these are particularly bad ideas. But like you said. You can read them. But when you look at all her interviews and she is asked about her policies. She recites one of those points and adds in her middle class American quip and one or two other rehearsed responses. Any thing else is nothing more but word salad gibberish and laughter. She came off as fake and artificial. For better or for worse Trump knows how to resonate with his base. You add the support of RFK and people like Gabbard behind him people start paying attention. They look back and compare 2016-2019 and the last 4 years.
She was in office these are the things she should have been doing already. That is very odd to propose those relatively minor things when people struggle to buy products. People wanted economy to recover not to support some war on other end of the world.
Except the economy did recover, inflation was so low the federal reserve was looking to cut rates, unemployment was about as low as it could feasibly get, real wages were about as high as they had ever been. The US came out of Covid with a better recovery than any of the other countries in the G7. Despite all that everyone felt like the economy was bad because people don’t have any fucking clue how the economy works.
The main gripes I heard people around my generation make was that they never thought they were going to own their own home and thought they could never afford to have kids. And guess who ran on policies that would help Americans do both of those things? Kamala did. What did trump run on? An out of control inflationary plan of tariff every import at 20% for zero fucking reason and vague references of violence against dems and minorities.
Problem is we Americans are just regarded, can’t make decisions in our own best interest.
Tariffs:
Trump looks for a 60% tariff on all goods from China. Studies show this leads to significant inflation.
Both would use minor tariffs strategically.
Foreign Policy:
Trump is posed to be significantly more friendly with Russia than Harris, though he is chaotic enough to actually play hardball with foreign powers. Harris would have led to a more formal and professional, if less effective approach.
Minimum wage:
Harris raises federal minimum to $15. Historically, it ought to be around $10-13. Trump is likely to leave it at $7.25.
I really don’t see how Trump plans to combat inflation. Heavy tariffs raise it, corporate tax cuts aren’t likely to raise wages, and he isn’t known for legislation that benefits the poor.
Meanwhile, most of my peers (25m) are struggling financially and are close to moving back in with their parents if they haven’t already.
Foreign Policy: Trump is posed to be significantly more friendly with Russia than Harris, though he is chaotic enough to actually play hardball with foreign powers. Harris would have led to a more formal and professional, if less effective approach.
though he is chaotic enough to actually play hardball with foreign powers
This is a mischaracterization of someone who is easily flattered by strongman posturing. Netenyahu made a mockery of Biden he's going to cuck the SHIT out of trump
Except Trump has historically held an extremely hostile attitude towards Iran, if you recall both his campaign 2016 and the presidential term after that. I think Netanyahu will find the lines drawn are so far away he doesn't even have the balls to cross them.
Yes, he has buddied up with many other strongmen, but he's never had a good relationship with Iran. In fact, he spent his last presidential term repeatedly trying to screw them over and failing due to internal opposition.
It shouldn't and didn't. It will make very bad precedent when candidate promises to not be as bad instead of actually proposing viable alternatives and solutions which can be criticized.
Chill out wise sage, i'm not even american. I'm just saddened by the fact that we threw our likely last chance to solve the climate crysis to the wind today
She does, and I quite frankly think they're pretty good. The problem is, it doesn't matter if you don't make enough of a point for people to learn about them. The fact that Trump to a large degree won the economics issue just on tariffs and "look at my last presidency [before pandemic and large scale war]" tells us that Harris either said the absolute worst of her ideas or didn't put much emphasis on it.
I've seen lots of people say he onky won because sexism, but honestly? I think this was it. Democrate were stuck picking their weakest candidate because with Biden dropping out, they'd lose all their election funds if it didn't go to the other person currently on the ticket when those funds were raised.
She did well during the Trump/Kamala debate, but bombed most of her other interviews (ex. FOX, and that Townhall Q&A). Mostly because she just wouldn't answer any questions.
Might be a you thing. I'm not following any political subreddits (and most of them prohibit political posts) so I barely see any election posts. On twitter it's pretty much unavoidable at this time
Any angry comments get down voted and hidden automatically, as opposed to twitter blue checkmarks getting engagement boost
But I'm not even talking about the presidency. Twitter has just become a very angry place in general. All there is nowadays is a pointless drama, endless arguments about nonsense topics. No more silly funny posts, all just negativity and hate
I'm not either but the popular page on Reddit is crazy. Half the popular page is ppl having mental breakdowns about it lol
Bro I saw a comment saying something like 1984 starts now with 1.5k upvotes crazy 💀
Also a lot of the sub reddits are modded by the same ppl that will just sensor you for having the wrong opinion. Probably why reddit is the way it is. It isn't a place for free speech.
It's pretty funny watching the meltdowns after they've spent the last eight years swinging that superiority complex around. Turns out insisting that you're just better than the other guy in every way leads to one hell of a reality check if the other guy wins.
nothing wrong with being republican, the american parties are basically the same anyways. the problem, however, lies with the fact that trump is a felon cult leader whose dementia is starting to show pretty badly. people that vote for specifically him deserve the hate. hope you went voting tho!
There's people for whom the Obama care repealing will be a death sentence and women who will live with chronic pains from not having medication that is also used in abortions
Not to speak of all the women who will die from pregnancy complications
It’s just blaze of glory pats on the back and people saying, I was right all along, pretending they know shit. Just extensions of Trumpisms. If team blue would’ve won, it would be the reverse situation here on reddit probably
To be fair the beatings weren't always part of his sexual assaults - sometimes he just went straight in with the kiss or grope. Also, the 13 year old was a few years shy of womanhood - though he did beat her good.
Government sectors going to get dismantled and turned private (FAA, post office). Foreign aid going away, bye bye Ukraine. More aggressive posturing towards China, trade with EU will drop. Day to day life will remain unchanged unless something up there directly impacts you. Prices aren't going down, home prices aren't changing and unemployment isn't falling.
Where does American manufacturing get its raw materials? Not everything in the chain is/can be made here. Some things just have to be imported. Variable costs go up so either it eats your margins and hurt your bottom line, or you raise prices and people buy less of your goods and hurt your bottom line
Democrats also fucked up by throwing immigrants under the bus. Immigrants are THE option to see lower prices in grocery stores, and the Dems chose to appeal to isolationists instead. Now we're not only going to see higher input costs, but higher labor costs. Honestly, our hope is that he's too incompetent to get anything done, kinda like his first term.
It seems more delusional to be a US Citizen and still think he’s gonna actually get the rest of our checks and balances to agree with his dumbass ideas
yea, and the worst part people who voted for him under the idea that harris will raise taxes and prices fail to realize that he'll raise taxes as well.
That's exactly what the tariffs will be. He may not increase middle-class income taxes, but tariffs will put a fresh, insurmountable tax burden on everyone except millionaires. All while he promises the biggest tax cuts to billionaires in the country's history.
Aggressive posture towards PRC unlikely, Trump is trivially manipulated by strongman posturing. Remember when kim jong unf sent him a fuckhuge love letter in a cartoonishly big envelope and he gushed about it?
Post Office will collapse in months if privatized. 😂 Have you seen the losses? I'm literally a mailman and to no surprise this is exactly what they want.
America could cut all of its commercial ties with other nations and it would still be ok, America is the number 1 industry in the world stop talking bullshit
In general its quiet. No more ads. No more yabbering about how “actually erm my candidate will cuz of this picture”. I didnt want him to win but it is what it is.
Then can Democrats really blame anyone when the opposition abuses it like they should have? Technically Biden can throw trump in prison literally right now and claim it as presidential action.
Yeah, which is a total fucking joke move at this stage. They are welcoming a felon into the White House, and honestly, I'm tired of caring about it. This set back the democratic party an entire decade, and it's gonna be a shit ton of work to piece it back together. Frankly, I'm not going to contribute this time around. Seriously, fuck this.
True. But you also have to remember that majority made this happen. I really don't think 60+ million Americans are trying to destroy their own homes. Reddit likes to play it like that (and I voted blue straight-ticket), but seriously, I don't think this is the end of the world. If history tracks, people will be tired of red bullshit and vote blue next election, just like it has happened dozens of other times.
I don't think it's about willfully trying to destroy their country, I think it's the lack of understanding. Ask anyone how our branches of government work, a normal bro isn't gonna know. Education is subpar, and we're definitely seeing the effects of No Child Left Behind.
The difference now than any other red wave we've had, is that there are extremists in this one.
Yeah I see your point. But even with extremists, there are enough levelheaded people to not allow this country to devolve into complete chaos or dystopian nightmare. We have a few awful hiccups, sure, but look at our history too. Slavery is arguably the worst thing this country has ever done and we beat that. We will beat whatever bullshit happens too.
Goes the other way too. Ppl flamed trump for the eating the dogs bit and my response was “ok but that really doesnt mean alot about his actually policy even if it was stupid” and I just had a friend who sent me a video of Kamala being cringe and did the EXACT SAME SHIT. ppl are really bad at knowing what they actually wanna vote for.
It’s not bots we’re just sad and don’t want to think about it, for the most part. I’m just addicted to this shit and predicted a Trump victory weeks ago so I’m not surprised by this at all
I don't screenshot everything to anticipate a future need for a "gotcha". But I am very sure that this happen,
But I could wager a bet for sure. If I defamed the mods here, as long as the mods can show any sort of "time-lapse" proof I was wrong, they can permaban me from this sub.
Also, I hovered on the banner or something like that at that time, a text box was shown and said something along the lines of banner to stay until 6th November 2024 at some time some time. That was my memory, I guess some other people could attest to that too. I checked that because I thought I accidentally entered another political sub that I was actively trying to hide from.
Exactly, I already tried to turn off the major subs to avoid reading political ads/news and still the slipped in the cracks. Yea, mod, good for you that you went out and voted or whatever, but not everyone is American.
Very true, even if I give a shit, I know where to find you guys and their political takes. They are so abundant in Reddit, this domain expansion is not needed.
To be clear, this is what normal people do when the election ends, whether your candidate wins or loses. The only people who continually parade that shit around outside campaign times are people who have their entire identities wrapped up in politics.
One of the mods made and pinned a post showing how greentext has more subscribed users than the 4chan subreddit and celebrating about beating bigots. They absolutely were not trolling.
I'm no Trump voter, but I'll always look for a silver lining. If Trump is the new emperor, all the bots are dead, and the dems are shell shocked, can we please bring back some of the better porn subs?
Dems were quiet at the polls. I did my part, I voted. Like 15 million others didn’t pick up the slack. This election was an even bigger fuck up than 2016 for us!
Enjoy it while it lasts. In a few days the sub IQ American populous will start blaming repubs for everything and then you can start shitting your pants again about a blue wave.
You're not wrong. Remember last week there was a thread here about a right-winger who couldn't get with his crush and it had thousands of upvotes and commenters saying they'd never sleep with someone who votes a certain way? Never expected r/greentext to be like that lol
Update: my reddit is finally loading, I thought the post was being heavily downvoted for some reason and comments weren't coming in but now they're all coming. Probably just a ton of traffic coming to the site
No, I think so many Americans on this site are just that disheartened about the left losing.
I’m glad, personally. As a non-American, it’s been months of constant political echochamber, even where it wasn’t warranted. Hopefully this’ll teach people that their echochamber bullshit doesn’t do a thing and they’re not actually engaging in political discourse or discussion, they’re just ruining the site for everyone else.
I’ll need a very large bucket of popcorn for this.
im german, this isn't gonna affect me too much unless a thermonuclear missile lands on my head, but there may or may not be some history for comparable political figures here
Where are the 80 million Joe Biden voters ? They are about 14 000 000 short right now. Did they stay at home or did they never exist in tge first place ?
A lot of them thought that refusing to vote for Kamala because of Israel was somehow gonna lead to something good for Palestine. Now the dumbfucks get to watch Trump bomb the crap out of Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Iran.
Basically, they fell for the idiotic idea that not voting would somehow yield a result they wanted.
That's what the Caledonian Kanaks did. They had a referendum for independance from France but boycotted the vote over something anecdotical. Now they are french forever lol
I saw her losing as soon as she became a candidate.
Say what you want about joe, he at least was a meme gold mine and was memorable.
Meanwhile Kamala is just another political NPC.
That's all that matters nowadays. You cannot have a non-controversial figure as your candidate or you'll lose, as people won't pay attention to them and forget about whatever they talk about.
She also didn't had any agenda or backbone. She had 0 ideas which came from here and no plan how to actually implement them. And she was promising to push some laws when she is already in the office (a bit pathetic).
She had the script memorized in her head and just kept repeating the same lines over and over, while basically telling Baier to "STFU and let me finish" every few seconds.
No. She would have been destroyed in the primary debates by the more confident and capable on the spot public speakers in the dems. She got piss all first time around the primaries and was a dei hire. In all honesty the pure cantankerous and arrogance of Biden and his family to not step down waaay earlier set this result in stone
In all honesty the pure cantankerous and arrogance of Biden and his family to not step down waaay earlier set this result in stone
This was my take away too. The whole situation just makes it clear how incompetent the democratic party is. That isnt necessarily a surprise, but yesterday made it painfully obvious.
I didn't think it helped. She's really just super uncharismatic, which in politics takes precedence over everything. She's not quick on her feet and even failed to shine in favourable circumstances.
If they could turn the time back, i think they'd probably just refuse to do any interviews and public appearances after the debate and just hope for the best.
Isn’t it also what happened in 2020 as well? Considering she spent the whole time calling Joe Biden insults and then redacted all of them once she got the nomination
I honestly think she got in the race too soon. Everyone was jazzed that it wasn't gonna be Joe. Then the good faith of her being a "generic dem" wore off real quick when everyone realized she was just going to keep the Gaza genocide going and do fuck all for trans people.
This was so simple yet so many democrats and progressives didn't get it. It's not about good guy vs bad guy, it's about very bad guy vs less bad guy. They were so caught up in their enlightenment that they didn't vote Harris and that helped propel orange man to the finish line.
I knew she wasn't gonna win cuz all her interviews started with I am from middle class family, way too much laughing, scripted interviews, pro gender change(most people i know are against these gender lgbt stuff and call it r3t@rded).again way too much laughing
Maybe it would be different if they picked one who has actually achieved something or one that doesn't let let her husband fist interns while she masterbates in the corner

Fascism is the political order created by Benito Mussolini and utilized by Francisco Franco. A key tenant is that there is no power higher than the state.

HenFruitEater@reddit
Giving away free money has tons of side effects with taxes and inflation. I would rather just get taxed less than add bureaucracy and give out free money to buy votes
saketho@reddit
I heard her say she is going to cut taxes for the poor and the middle, but she said it just once or twice. The overwhelming majority is in favour of this, even the rich, and this should have been her primary agenda that she pushed in every rally.
No_Economics_2677@reddit
So she was going to cut taxes, which means the government has less money, and she was gonna give out a bunch of money? Where's the money coming from? Or would that have just been the next presidents problem?
saketho@reddit

Can’t speak on anything else other than the child tax credit thing was 1 upping trumps $5000 that he pitched.
theceure@reddit

People wanted economy to recover not to support some war on other end of the world.
knightmare907@reddit

Waterbuck71@reddit
Corporate Tax: Trump reduces tax to 15-18 from 21%. Harris increases tax to 28%.
Personal Tax: Trump reduces renews capital gains cut. Harris increases million dollar salary bracket capital gains.
Abortion: Trump declared neutrality. Harris renewes Roe.
Tariffs: Trump looks for a 60% tariff on all goods from China. Studies show this leads to significant inflation. Both would use minor tariffs strategically.
Foreign Policy: Trump is posed to be significantly more friendly with Russia than Harris, though he is chaotic enough to actually play hardball with foreign powers. Harris would have led to a more formal and professional, if less effective approach.
Minimum wage: Harris raises federal minimum to $15.

She does, and I quite frankly think they're pretty good. The problem is, it doesn't matter if you don't make enough of a point for people to learn about them. The fact that Trump to a large degree won the economics issue just on tariffs and "look at my last presidency [before pandemic and large scale war]" tells us that Harris either said the absolute worst of her ideas or didn't put much emphasis on it.
batmansthebomb@reddit

Tariffs on everything will effect all.
Get ready for 10-30% inflation day 1 from them alone.
MustardSardines@reddit
Oh no we will be shining the spotlight more on American manufacturing and not relying solely on foreign goods, what will we do!
IFightPolarBears@reddit
Raising tariffs across the board isn't looking out for American manufacturing.
It's just hurting American consumers.
Trump's 2016 tariffs didn't help American manufacturing.
Pay higher prices, and make sure it stays in coffers locked away from the middle class sinking them further into poverty and despair.
This shouldn't even be a question, it's basic economics.
Toltolewc@reddit
This exactly.
Where does American manufacturing get its raw materials? Not everything in the chain is/can be made here. Some things just have to be imported. Variable costs go up so either it eats your margins and hurt your bottom line, or you raise prices and people buy less of your goods and hurt your bottom line
Furryyyy@reddit
Democrats also fucked up by throwing immigrants under the bus. Immigrants are THE option to see lower prices in grocery stores, and the Dems chose to appeal to isolationists instead. Pound-of-Piss@reddit
Doubt 60 million Americans will sit by and allow that to happen. Roe v Wade is one thing, the Constitution is a completely different beast.
altiuscitiusfortius@reddit

2 more scotus seats are likely. No matter what your personal politics it's not good for scotus to be this heavily one way.

Pound-of-Piss@reddit
Yeah, which is a total fucking joke move at this stage. They are welcoming a felon into the White House, and honestly, I'm tired of caring about it. This set back the democratic party an entire decade, and it's gonna be a shit ton of work to piece it back together. Frankly, I'm not going to contribute this time around. Seriously, fuck this.
bexohomo@reddit
Except the fact the entire government is red now. Constitution is as good as the ones who choose to uphold it. We'll see.
Pound-of-Piss@reddit
True. But you also have to remember that majority made this happen. I really don't think 60+ million Americans are trying to destroy their own homes. Reddit likes to play it like that (and I voted blue straight-ticket), but seriously, I don't think this is the end of the world. If history tracks, people will be tired of red bullshit and vote blue next election, just like it has happened dozens of other times.
bexohomo@reddit
I don't think it's about willfully trying to destroy their country, I think it's the lack of understanding. Ask anyone how our branches of government work, a normal bro isn't gonna know. Education is subpar, and we're definitely seeing the effects of No Child Left Behind.
The difference now than any other red wave we've had, is that there are extremists in this one.
Pound-of-Piss@reddit
Yeah I see your point. But even with extremists, there are enough levelheaded people to not allow this country to devolve into complete chaos or dystopian nightmare. We have a few awful hiccups, sure, but look at our history too. Slavery is arguably the worst thing this country has ever done and we beat that. We will beat whatever bullshit happens too.

Dems were quiet at the polls. I did my part, I voted. Like 15 million others didn’t pick up the slack. This election was an even bigger fuck up than 2016 for us!

Mesarthim1349@reddit
You're not wrong. Remember last week there was a thread here about a right-winger who couldn't get with his crush and it had thousands of upvotes and commenters saying they'd never sleep with someone who votes a certain way? Never expected r/greentext to be like that lol
Phendrana-Drifter@reddit
I'd never expect anyone who posts here or on 4chan to sleep with someone in their first place

This post feels crazy shadowbanned, is reddit down?
TheGoblinKingSupreme@reddit
No, I think so many Americans on this site are just that disheartened about the left losing.
I’m glad, personally. As a non-American, it’s been months of constant political echochamber, even where it wasn’t warranted. Hopefully this’ll teach people that their echochamber bullshit doesn’t do a thing and they’re not actually engaging in political discourse or discussion, they’re just ruining the site for everyone else.
I’ll need a very large bucket of popcorn for this.

keeleon@reddit
They died of old age.
3DollarMeat@reddit
They were already voting from the morgue or a coma last time though
IcyStormDragon@reddit
A lot of them thought that refusing to vote for Kamala because of Israel was somehow gonna lead to something good for Palestine. Now the dumbfucks get to watch Trump bomb the crap out of Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Iran.
Basically, they fell for the idiotic idea that not voting would somehow yield a result they wanted.
Skillr409@reddit
That's what the Caledonian Kanaks did. They had a referendum for independance from France but boycotted the vote over something anecdotical. Now they are french forever lol

FrostyWhile9053@reddit
If she had entered the running from the start she would have won
DontYouWantMeBebe@reddit
She did no unscripted interviews and laughed too much, unless that changed she was always going to lose
Lost_And_NotFound@reddit
I watched Pete Buttigieg debate undecided voters on a Jubilee YouTube video and just couldn’t imagine Harris doing anything like that.
mischling2543@reddit
They're gonna put up AOC instead in 2028 and she's gonna lose because now there's a curse on female candidates
Darren_McReynolds@reddit
That was great, if only there was more of that from the candidate
_Zezz@reddit
I saw her losing as soon as she became a candidate.
Say what you want about joe, he at least was a meme gold mine and was memorable.
Meanwhile Kamala is just another political NPC.
That's all that matters nowadays. You cannot have a non-controversial figure as your candidate or you'll lose, as people won't pay attention to them and forget about whatever they talk about.
kerm1tthefrog@reddit
She also didn't had any agenda or backbone. She had 0 ideas which came from here and no plan how to actually implement them. And she was promising to push some laws when she is already in the office (a bit pathetic).
Fanfics@reddit
She scripted the Fox interview?
ReallyDumbRedditor@reddit
She had the script memorized in her head and just kept repeating the same lines over and over, while basically telling Baier to "STFU and let me finish" every few seconds.
Such amazing interview skills.
mymemesnow@reddit
I think Trump being on Joe Rogan and Harris choosing not to be on is a good representation.
Trump used every trick in the book (including super unethical ones) to gather votes. Harris was way to mellow to beat that.
CyberneticSaturn@reddit
That’s some powerful delusion. She had something like 7% of democrats in the 2020 primary and didn’t change her campaign style at all, really.
Just a bad candidate.
FrostyWhile9053@reddit
She had almost 50% in the 2024 and she only had around 100 days to prepare
hazzmg@reddit
No. She would have been destroyed in the primary debates by the more confident and capable on the spot public speakers in the dems. She got piss all first time around the primaries and was a dei hire. In all honesty the pure cantankerous and arrogance of Biden and his family to not step down waaay earlier set this result in stone
etheran123@reddit
This was my take away too. The whole situation just makes it clear how incompetent the democratic party is. That isnt necessarily a surprise, but yesterday made it painfully obvious.
F-Lambda@reddit
don't know why you're getting downvoted, this is literally what happened in 2016
DanOfMan1@reddit
Harris won her CA senate seat in 2016, she only ran for pres in 2020
coconut-duck-chicken@reddit
Because its not 2016
NoImprovement439@reddit
She's still just as bad
coconut-duck-chicken@reddit
She was bad, but undeniably more confident
NoImprovement439@reddit
I didn't think it helped. She's really just super uncharismatic, which in politics takes precedence over everything. She's not quick on her feet and even failed to shine in favourable circumstances.
If they could turn the time back, i think they'd probably just refuse to do any interviews and public appearances after the debate and just hope for the best.
coconut-duck-chicken@reddit
Shoulda just gotten me to wear her skin suit ida done it
Sandpaper_Dreams@reddit
Isn’t it also what happened in 2020 as well? Considering she spent the whole time calling Joe Biden insults and then redacted all of them once she got the nomination
MobWacko1000@reddit
And this is based on what exactly?
FrostyWhile9053@reddit
He has been campaigning for a total of 2 years and he she was only campaigning for a little over a hundred days and it was pretty damn close
unusualyardbird@reddit
Classic loser talk.
Plus3d6@reddit
I honestly think she got in the race too soon. Everyone was jazzed that it wasn't gonna be Joe. Then the good faith of her being a "generic dem" wore off real quick when everyone realized she was just going to keep the Gaza genocide going and do fuck all for trans people.
123YooY321@reddit
As opposed to keep the genocide going and also persecute trans people like trump is
FinestCrusader@reddit
This was so simple yet so many democrats and progressives didn't get it. It's not about good guy vs bad guy, it's about very bad guy vs less bad guy. They were so caught up in their enlightenment that they didn't vote Harris and that helped propel orange man to the finish line.
CaesarWilhelm@reddit
Yeah but different from Dems the people voting Trump don't care about that
