WAIT RLY??? Are you saying there wasn't a global flood in 3000 BC that killed everyone except one family and then they repopulated the world through incest??
The Younger Dryas impact hypothesis (YDIH) suggests that a comet or meteor hit or exploded over North America around 12,900 years ago, causing a climate shift
Meh... this "it's the same guy!!!!" is the weakest gotcha people ever come up with when talking about religion....The da vinci code can probably be blamed for that.
Did you notice the similarities between ALL the fictional characters invented in the past 80 years, the "loser orphan discovers that he's a super cool hero dude in a hidden world he was coexisting with, all those years" for example? Imagine if someone told you "It's the same guy!!! Harry potter, Neo, Luke Skywalker, Narnia! It's different names of the same guy!!!".
How schizo would that sound.
It's just common tropes ma dude. Fire and flood are the only think that can sweep you entire village in 30 seconds, back in 3000BC.
Which goes back to the core of the creator mythos as a whole. It's what people understood. For them to have things, they had to make things. For living things to exist, there was a creation process and a birth. So for there to be all of this conceptually there had to be something greater that made everything else. The ancient stories are set within the context of the societies that envisioned them based on their ability to interpret the world around them. They weren't idiots, they just didn't have the thousands of years of research we do to contextualize everything.
It wasn't the arabs considering we descend from Sam, one of the sons of Noah. It would be impossible for us to disbelieve considering we didn't exist yet.

Such a boring way to approach a discussion. Imagine people are discussing a movie and someone chimes in just to say “uhh it’s not real dumbass”.

True, but there isn't a significant group of people who believe Star Wars is a true story.

Younger dryas event like 13000 years ago
Spanker_of_Monkeys@reddit
And you think that was Noah's era? Doesn't the bible specify an era (roughly) way later?
jak_parsons_project@reddit
I think the Bible, especially the Old Testament, are a collection of stories passed down dating back to ancient Sumer
Mentavil@reddit
That statement needs a time period attached to it (and if it isn't in the millions congratulations for outing yourself a clown)
