This girl I know is selling a used 2013 Dodge Charger, she said she is asking 8000 but willing to go lower. Good deal?

just a heads up I am not a huge car guy, this girl I know is selling a used 2013 Dodge Charger, below is everything shes told me.
"It’s mainly for parts, 150k on motor 180k chassis. After market wheels on 315s which are brand new tires not even 100 miles on them, Holley high ram intake manifold, hellcat injectors, bbk 90mm throttle body, k@n CAI, long tube headers to full exhaust. I also have all OEM parts, leg maker CAI, and brand new spoiler never used. Trans is starting to have some issues "
Is this a good deal? Is it a scam? Red Flags? Green Flags? Really just need opinions, im not 100% set on buying anything right now I'm just looking around but it seemed nice, all opinions wanted
Less_Notice_314@reddit
Just skip the dodges. As a matter of fact when you know nothing about cars just stick to Toyota, Honda, or Mazda.
ThePurch@reddit
Here’s a general rule of thumb that most car people agree on: never ever buy a Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler.
DudeWhereIsMyDuduk@reddit
I can't agree.
DudeWhereIsMyDuduk@reddit
God all of those steering components just need to be taken out back and put down.
onedelta89@reddit
Our well maintained dodge charger polica cars with 150-200k miles usually sell for around 3-4000 at auction. One that was in clean shape with 135k had a bad can shaft and it sold for $800. If you want parts, buy one of those. I wouldn't pay more than 1500 for a running and driving charger with 200k miles if it needs work.
CrazyMarlee@reddit
Nope, nope, nope, nope. Run away, run away.
Labornurse59@reddit
Run, OP, unless you like giving money away!
Elephunk05@reddit
$8000, "mainly for parts" "not a car guy" don't do it. I'm a car guy and I wouldn't do it. Everything you list suggest it has been driven hard. Bring a trailer has more than a few cars for $8000 that are worth more in the long fun and can be driven away.
Fun_Intention9846@reddit
The “motor replaced after 30k” is worrying.
mokexman@reddit (OP)
thank you!
Fun_Intention9846@reddit
They blew up a motor after 30k? Yikes.
LSBm5@reddit
JFC the amount of red flags. Run away.
ThirdSunRising@reddit
The chassis has only 180k on it yet it’s not the original engine?
Fuck. This reeks of “pile of parts” but you can build those parts into anything you want.
brinerbear@reddit
Offer her 2k cash and sell the parts on craigslist.
brinerbear@reddit
Chrysler products are a money pit when they run. Pass.
User_R60@reddit
Maybe if it's 8000 pennies.
Various-Ducks@reddit
Wtf
NovelLongjumping3965@reddit
Price a transmission, double that for the cost if you do it yourself. Check the value of that car. .. I would guess $3-4k would be an offer. Since it has new tires.
Ordinary_Plate_6425@reddit
No no no.... this is not the car for a "not a car guy"
nodnarb88@reddit
Dodge or anything under the parent company are junk.
Potential-Ant-6320@reddit
How low is she willing to go?
Puki999@reddit
Lol I was looking for this anyway I'm no car guy but transmission issues and on a charger that probably went to many car take over things..... I'm out but she must be pretty cute if you're trying to entertain her offer
Practical-Law8033@reddit
Sounds like a big expensive headache especially for someone self described as “not really a big car guy”. Why are you even interested in such a car?
jibaro1953@reddit
I would never by a Dodge, Chrysler, or Jeep under any circumstances
jeepsies@reddit
I would never
gulliverian@reddit
Transmission "starting to have issues"??!!
Run away. Far, far away.
Ragnar-Wave9002@reddit
It's a dodge. No
blahyawnblah@reddit
Any dodge over 5 years old is a pile of junk
UsuallyMoist5672@reddit
That car has certainly seen some shit. Keep on walking.
SteelFlexInc@reddit
How is this even a question? On its second motor at 30k and now transmission is going out on a type of vehicle known for being driven like there’s no tomorrow and maintained like it won’t be needed tomorrow
chumlySparkFire@reddit
11years old. And it sucked when it was new. It’s been beat. And abused. No
Alive_Canary1929@reddit
NO GO BUY A TOYOTA!
EffortlessSleaze@reddit
She is telling you honestly the car isn’t mechanically sound and that the only value is in the parts. Do you have a different car you want those parts for? If not, bad idea.
legitimate_sauce_614@reddit
fuck no. chargers are for people that drive on bald tires and never change the oil. offer to trade for a launch ps4
doozerman@reddit
Scam? They’re being pretty straight forward lol modded cars are rarely driven lightly, it’s been a hard 150k. I’d pass unless you had another charger with low miles, time and money to piss away
FocusedADD@reddit
If you're looking for that chassis and that motor with the intent of continuing to modify it that's not the worst if everything else is clean. The transmission is probably due to be rebuilt, which comes with the territory of making cars fast. Everything wears out a whole lot faster.
I'd want to know who did the tune and if they're known to do good work.
You never stated what your intent is for it, but if you're just looking for transportation, this ain't that.
Traditional_Rice264@reddit
8k damn I’d give you my 2015 q50 with 69k miles for that if you wanted
corporaterebel@reddit
"It’s mainly for parts,"
If you are looking for parts: yes.
If you are looking for a financially feasible registerable vehicle: no.
No_Drag6934@reddit
EL-PASS-O.
robbobster@reddit
Parts cars are a half-step away from the scrap pile. Would you pay $8k for junk?
Direct_Cabinet_4564@reddit
Did you miss the part about the transmission?
mokexman@reddit (OP)
I saw I saw, just thought I'd come on here and ask regardless
LordMongrove@reddit
Nope. Walk away.
