Songgeek@reddit
I once saw a 389 turn a deer into mist on i40 in TN. Dude was going at least 80mph. I was broken down on the side of the road. I heard the smack, and a cars brakes, then I see the red mist and a truck just rev up some more and keep going.
Inevitable_Meet_7374@reddit
Good in the driver for hitting the deer straight on and not swerving. That poor deer though

Extra Chunky
zonnipher117@reddit
That's gnarly.
Kryptedbbkick@reddit
That deer got turned into Legos
Mediocre_Ice_8846@reddit
I've seen so much blood on the highway that it looked like the elevator scene from The Shining with filmed there.

OMG! Lol! I was JUST on i81 northbound to Carlisle, PA. 2 days ago! I seen so many fresh road kills.
Cultural_Simple3842@reddit
Haha, I went to Carlisle two days ago and came back last night. Not a trucker, drove up to see a sick friend.
BoujeeRedNek@reddit (OP)
I'm picking up in Moultrie, GA tomorrow, delivering in Carlisle, PA friday. Let's see how i-81 goes this time
Cultural_Simple3842@reddit
I may have driven through that pile yesterday. I recognize those signs.
terriblet0ad@reddit
That’s really sad and also completely crazy. That deer got completely obliterated!
Rdtisgy1234@reddit
Anyone try those little deer warning whistles that you can stick on your truck that supposedly emits a high frequency that deer can hear and avoid? Do those actually work?
Parasight11@reddit
Not a trucker but this works in my car almost every time, you ever try the horn?
AnomalousSquid@reddit
Yeah, my motorcycle had some on it when I got it. Made the deer move alright…. Right into the road in front of me! Don’t recommend.
Parasight11@reddit
Not gong to lie I fucking love seeing the red splatters that on the road that look like someone threw a bucket of red paint.
yardjockey@reddit

Suicidal Bambis 🤦🏻♂️
Theoneandonlymxcn@reddit
Wow the brutality. I feel horrible for the animal. Didn’t have a chance.
driver_dylan@reddit
Watch as the apex predator, the Cascadia, instantly destroys the unsuspecting deer. It's blinding hypnotic bioluminescent eyes and shimmering markings a curious evolutionary adaptation. Remarkably brutal kill seldom seen on nature documentaries. I'm Richard Attenborough for National Geographic.
Mistermeena@reddit
I was already reading that in his voice before you signed off at the end 🤣
BoujeeRedNek@reddit (OP)
It happens so quickly, unfortunately. I hit 2 Deer myself the week following. One in NJ one in Maine. The first one no damage, and the second significant damage.
rat_technician@reddit
Are bull bars very common in the states? In Aus lots of trucks have them for kangaroos and wombats
Mistermeena@reddit
Seems to be pigs that are desperate to get under my truck in north qld...that and fucking birds - yet to smash a windshield but I've shit my pants a few times
aCausticAutistic@reddit
We have deer guards. They aren't as beefy as bull bars but you definitely save more than they are worth when you hit a deer with one. I don't understand truckers who don't have one and companies that don't provide one are moronic.
Present-Ambition6309@reddit
Their ex wives! Reason those guys are tuff SOB’s also. 😂 jk Ned Kelly?
OsBaculum@reddit
Dude, Aussie bull bars are next level beefy! Most that you'll see up here aren't nearly as big.
FloppyTacoflaps@reddit
Gotta be real careful around dusk and dawn this time of year they are really active i just avoid driving then
Present-Ambition6309@reddit
be real careful… how? Hover the brake? Fill myself with anxiety n hope n pray? What do you mean by that? I don’t understand this, when ppl say it.
I just turn up Iron Maiden’s Run to the Hills song. I just continue on if it’s deer. A moose or a griz yeah you’re ass def is slowing up for their big ass’s. But the way I see it is “ that dumb ass animal is going to do whatever it is it does, I can’t control it n I’m just keep’n on!”
FloppyTacoflaps@reddit
Watch the ditches my guy. I operated a 5 truck operation in Northern Alberta and never once had a deer strike or moose strike in 15 years. They have like 100x the population of wildlife up there.
Present-Ambition6309@reddit
Yah I lived north of you in North Pole, AK. I’ve driven the ALCAN twice. I know what you speak of. Very well. Still don’t understand what they mean. Use caution when around wildlife of course but.. I don’t get it. Maybe it’s just one of those things I won’t ever understand idk.
FloppyTacoflaps@reddit
I'm a hunter do guided hunts for black bear and grizzly in Northern Alberta mainly bow hunting so that's where most of my background is at.
Present-Ambition6309@reddit
Rugged way but a path that is done with awe. Beautiful country up there. I still say the ALCAN from Tok, AK to Montana is the best drive on this side of the planet. Except the part where there is no road in between boarders. A lot of Grizzlies out there, just watching me bounce along in a uhaul.
FRDyNo@reddit
sure but just try not to be such a prick about it next time.
Present-Ambition6309@reddit
I’m genuinely asking. I don’t understand it.
FRDyNo@reddit
show some compassion, perhaps remorse? shouldn't matter if it's "just a deer". still a shitty situation to completely plow through another living thing.
Present-Ambition6309@reddit
Being a prick would have been like “oh deer Jesus please Bambi…etc imo.
FloppyTacoflaps@reddit
Lots of our trucks in alberta had fog lights that pointed into the ditch for this reason. You just have to stay vigilant and avoid driving at dusk and dawn when wildlife is most active.
Present-Ambition6309@reddit
Great advice! Ya’ll do that, I’ll drive! Perfect! See ya on the side of the road, I’ll be pulling boo out my grill! Sausage? 😂
_Aech_@reddit
Still... that death by blunt force trauma and rapid unconsciousness has got to be better than being eaten alive by a coyote or other predator if nature took its course.
Present-Ambition6309@reddit
Yeah if it wasn’t for the Schwinn bike, Kermit De Frogg’e would’ve went out like that also. We are fortunate people.
Cyberdyne_Systems_AI@reddit
Hard to see clearly...you think the deer will make it!?!?
Cyberdyne_Systems_AI@reddit
Sorry that was sarcasm
ChrisCkros@reddit
Really?
HowlingWolven@reddit
I don’t, it didn’t have a chance to suffer.

Jesus it lost its head. Hope it was painless.. that brutality, seems like it was
MajorHymen@reddit
Truck is going highway speeds that deer had the Tony soprano experience. Instantaneous lights out.
HowlingWolven@reddit
Best you can hope for is obliterating the poor thing in a clean hit. It’s worse when you know it suffered.
hobbymostly@reddit
I always see the carnage in the morning and wondered what it looked like on impact. That’s gnarly.
Mountainear99@reddit
Does that sign say Arcadia ? I know exactly where that is and I’m not surprised
skaldrir69@reddit
He gone
OsBaculum@reddit
I need a bigger bull bar.
peeledbananna@reddit
I had the tiny bumper protector on my western star, I asked for a proper one and I was told it’s sufficient. I smoked a “small” elk and now I have a new truck and full size bar.

Present-Ambition6309@reddit
It’s stew for dinner tonight! Just knock off that rear end grease, you’ll be fine! Quit your whining. 😂
Mar_Reddit@reddit
Only ever hit 1 deer. Down in butt fuck nowhere southwest Texas. Fucked with my radar a tad but was otherwise unscathed.
Pacobell1245@reddit
Shit you not two deer in one month. At one point I've hit two deer at the same time
HowlingWolven@reddit
My record was two deer in five minutes. One pinballed off the left side of the guard, next off the right.
Outlandah_@reddit
That is the second best song to hit a deer to
Space_Goblin_Yoda@reddit
Rapid unscheduled disassembly. I've never seen parts fly like that before!
Human_Lecture_348@reddit
Most of the parts flying were from the truck, then the deer gor crushed by the trailer wheels and 'sploded a little bit
RubeRick2A@reddit
It sure wasn’t a ‘DUCK’ 😬
Ok-Weather7707@reddit
I don't think that deer even had time to know what hit it
