Turning left on green

Ok I'm aware when turning left on green you yield to oncoming traffic. To be fair most people will still go if they see enough space to proceed especially at an intersection with constant traffic. I waited at the green light all the while being hounded by the car behind me honking. I saw a chance to go and I went. I got a ticket for failure to yield. Yes I know you have to yield but most everyone still turns left on green when they think they have a chance especially in bigger busier cities.

My “failure to yield” ticket was given to me as I was waiting on a tow truck to come pick up what was left of my car. Don’t let people behind you pressure you into going. They’re only there with you for that small moment in time… they won’t be there for you for whatever may happen next.
That video that was linked in the comments looks like good info

There are impatient drivers however think of it this way, are those impatient drivers going to pay your ticket?

Turn only when you can make the turn in absolute safety. Impatient people behind you can go F themselves.

This video might be helpful for you. There's a variety of ways someone may get a failure to yield, it can be tricky. Don't let a driver behind you pressure you. Choose safety always, and be confident that pissing someone off because you're being cautious is a whole lot better than the potential consequences of doing something hastily and dangerously because of pressure.

I know safety first but some times people just get to you especially when you are on your period. My point was I didn’t even know this was a violation because everyone I know does this and I’ve never heard of anyone getting pulled over for it

I get that, it's definitely a skill to not let people get to you sometimes but just try your best. Lots of people (myself included at one point) find left turn yielding VERY confusing because of all the different possibilities and scenarios, and as one person put it on that video, it's as if the universe must align.
The truth is, there are lots of technical traffic violations that people won't get pulled over for until a cop feels like it. It's unfortunate that you were the one who got picked. In the future, it's best to just try your best to follow the book and just know anyone who tries to push you is silly
