Exterior is a step backwards, interior is nice though, I really like both Hyundai and Kia’s latest interior designs. Honda could learn a thing or two about having a splash of color and actual design rather than it being a drab black vertical bar of nothing and a bit of honeycomb that is probably a bitch to clean.
At least Honda doesn’t have a volume knob with a power glyph that spins around with the dial. Whomever it was at VW that let that through the design process hopefully was fired.
Yeah what the f**k. How did that even get through!?! Can't imagine it being much more expensive to make one that doesn't turn like that. Kind boggling given German cars are suppose to have better attention to detail. Funny because VW models will have cornering lights but skimp out on a damn volume knob. Tbh I'd rather have the stupid knob and cornering lights than just a normal knob lol. Still so dumb
Didn't help that the girl I dated was driven even more nuts by it than me and would yell at me to turn the volume down on the wheel buttons so she should turn the dial straight. That didn't last long...
Diesel was by far the best power plant and driveline they had. I wouldn't purchase the 1.6T since it's a dog of a driveline. Removing the diesel wil make this irrelevant for me, like they did with the Sportage.
It’s not every year. It just seems that way because they change their corporate face more than just about anyone. And with as many models as they have, it’s almost on a yearly basis in which one or two models receives the newer look, whatever it may be.
I think I’ve seen one man driving one of these ever. Every other time it was a woman. And while my mom was looking for a new SUV she and my sister had no strong feelings about anything except the Sportage which they both loved the look of
I like this refresh. It’s more cohesive with the rest of the SUV lineup. It looks like a baby Sorrento, which is essentially the idea. It also has “heartbeat”-like DRL like the K5, which everyone went wild over.
This is the best looking Sportage to date. I will not miss the Crocodile Dundee boomerang face.
It probably is. It’s just that this article was written for the Australian market.
The sportage just got a facelift here, I'm assuming they wouldn't do another one so fast.
No it didn’t. It was a new generation for MY2023 The Sportage hasn’t received a facelift since then. This will be the mid-cycle facelift for MY2026. It’ll probably go on sale here in the states mid 2025.
gotta stand out somehow, between all the blown engines, kia boyz, rust, etc. it's almost as if their cars are gigantic pieces of shit and only sell based off superficialities
"i swear bro that brand is fuuuuckin doooooog shit man, like they only sell well because they have features people want, fuckin trash bro no cap, imagine buying a car for its features, lmfao ong fr 💯"
Glad they're getting rid of the 7 speed DCT and going with a 8 speed auto, smart move. Overall it looks pretty nice. A little over styled and Mitsubishi looking to me, but unfortunately that's the current trend...
My 2017 Civic Hatch had black wheels, they made me hyper paranoid about curbs, I never did get curb rash with them but I’ve seen plenty of examples that have got it.
My mom’s Buick Envision also has black wheels, and curb rash.
Looks quite a better than the existing Sportage IMO. Hyundai and Kia designs over the last few years always seem like they're doing way too much. It's like they're all saying "Hey! Look at me! I'm different". I'm sure it works for some folks but most of their designs aren't right for me. Shame though because they're otherwise solid enough cars and I appreciate that so much of their lineup offers hybrids.

If i wasn't so wary about the reliability I'd have probably gotten a Sportage Hybrid as my next DD. Hyundai/Kia interiors are on point.
TheAlphaCarb0n@reddit
They look nice, but they kinda feel their price to me. Compare it to Chevy's, which while usually pretty ugly, I trust it to mostly stay in one piece.
BTTWchungus@reddit
Try owning a Chevy past 100k miles lmao
TheAlphaCarb0n@reddit
Ours is at 240k km and the trans is ready to die, but at least the volume button has stayed on. Hah.

Honda the new VW with those interiors

No way, that front on the current model is an absolute mess. This is so much cleaner.

No the current one looks amazing compared to this garbage.

Kias gotta stop with the EVERY year facelift trend. It makes their cars look dated after being on the road for like 3 years.

TheAlphaCarb0n@reddit
I mean, this is a facelift from 2022, which was a full redesign from 2020. That's a lot.
DodgerBlueRobert1@reddit
Yes, it's a facelift for the current Sportage which originally came out in 2022 for MY2023.
That's incorrect. The full redesign was in 2022 for MY2023. The previous generation ran from MY2017-MY2022, with a mid-cycle refresh for MY2020.
No, that's not a lot. The Sportage is getting a mid-cycle refresh in its 4th year. That's quite normal in the automotive industry.
CrocCapital@reddit
it’s called hyperbole

Looks like shit.
Boomerang front is far superior.
