Green or Blue?

Green or Blue?
Green is 40 miles more, 50 minutes more. But avoids, Richmond, DC, Baltimore, Philly, NYC, leaving some out i think.

Green. Make sure you're using GPS with traffic updates on, and it won’t be 50 minutes longer anymore. Plus, don’t forget about the tolls, man!
View on Reddit #44917625

Socketz11@reddit

Green during daylight hours. Blue, if you can time it between hitting Richmond, VA after 9pm, driving through the night and having NYC on your ass before 4am. Same goes in reverse if you are hitting Hartford, CT after 9pm.

Unless you're an owner op. Those turnpikes and bridges add up to $200+.

Hey, if they give me extra $200 for tolls, and I have the time - I'll still bypass the tolls and keep the money

I’d take blue but 50-301 then back on 95 in DE, 295 up to Bordentown, which is exit 7 then 7 to 18 and take 17 north, cross the Tapp, and then 684 to 84
View on Reddit #39887166

Atypical_Mammal@reddit

I break off to the west off the dc beltway, and then go to Harrisburg via gettysburg. Thus avoiding expensive toll roads and GW bridge.
View on Reddit #39888934

SaltAndBitter@reddit

Let's be honest... I-76 is the real killer here. Better off taking some near-parallel state and US highways over that money pit of a road
View on Reddit #39881565

Atypical_Mammal@reddit

None of these routes involve 76. Only 78 from Harrisburg east, and that one is free.
View on Reddit #39881889

SaltAndBitter@reddit

Red is 76. And I stand by my statement that green could stand to be improved a bit to avoid the tolls, because blue is just ass

I’ve done that exact trip multiple times and green all the way. 95 is chaos, 81 is peaceful meadows. The NJ turnpike sucks. Southern PA is beautiful mountains and easy truck stops. Depending on what cities you hit on rush hours, the green route might also be faster. I’ve hit 2-3 hour traffic jams on 95.
View on Reddit #39855045

So be careful around Dc trucks through can only take 95, and 495. I believe 395 or the beltway has low bridges and says no trucks.

Go east around DC don't follow the GPS around the west side. Go straight through Baltimore it's never that bad to warrant going all the way around the west bypass. When you get up to NY take 287 to 87 and across 84. I never take 95 up through NYC unless I'm going no further than New Haven.
