Are people scared of the speed or the ticket?

You're completely out of touch. Firstly, public roads are not the place for driving with 'passion'. You're not a child, don't behave like one. Secondly, people are afraid of the devastating consequences of a crash. These laws exist for a reason, which is that about 1.3 million people are killed in traffic incidents each year. Here's a bit of a lesson for you: you're not as good as you think you are. You're not above the laws of physics or your own biology. If something unexpected happens while you're driving, you lack the ability to successfully negotiate the situation at those speeds. In fact, you almost certainly lack the ability to come out of it at legal speeds. Driving aggressively dramatically increases the risk. More importantly, you're not going to just kill yourself, you're likely to kill someone else as well. Do us all a favour: either grow up quick, or take the bus. You obviously can't be trusted to do the right thing. If you want to drive with 'passion' find a racetrack.
