That's assuming they have grocery stores. They don't put grocery stores in the middle of hoods, they put McDonald's.
So if you got no car in the middle of a city in this country with dogshit public transportation, your only reasonable option would be the fast food nearest to you. Even if you do have a car, you have to consider the time spent driving to a nicer neighborhood that has a grocery store and the cost of gas. Then the time spent driving back, and the time spent cooking. Especially if you're working multiple jobs and/or have a family. In the US, there is a trend between food insecurity and obesity for a reason.
May it be possible for people in poverty to get access to better foods? Probably, most of the time. Is pretty much everything aimed against them to coerce them into buying shitty addictive slop instead? Absolutely. Poor people are the target demographic of pretty much every fast food corporation in the country.

Again, if you have a grocery store nearby to buy ingredients. It's a very real situation for people to not have one nearby and have no realistic method of transport to go there.
I never said anything about TV or advertisements. I'm talking about real-world shit. Fast food places are put in poor neighborhoods over grocery stores. We have dogshit, unsafe public transportation in the US. If you don't have a car and/or don't have a grocery store near you, the deck is stacked against you to get you to buy unhealthy slop. That's not a flaw in the system, it's by design.
There is a SIGNIFICANT trend between food insecurity, poverty and obesity rather than being underweight.

Get over yourself. You really think that in 2024 the poorest people in the world are farmers? Do you even know what proportion of the poor are farmers? I know you specifically said subsistence farmers but that is such a tiny portion of the overall poor (of which the vast majority are NOT FAT) that it's basically arguing in bad faith with how far you moved the goalpost.

You're correct most people who think eating healthy is expensive are usually dumb af and don't understand that eating nothing but salad isn't healthy. Like lettuce is generally pretty expensive these days, due to inflation and the prices get even higher pretty regularly due to e coli exposure. So they're buying overpriced lettuce, buying dressing for it, which again is cheaper and healthier if you make it yourself and don't dump half a god damn bottle on your food, and they aren't learning ro properly budget and diet with real substitutes

Almost like life was far harsher back in ancient times and the religions had to be more brutal to cope with it. A lot of Old Testament teachings boil down to being thankful for the few things you do have lest the fucking devil himself afflict you with boils and kill your children while God stands idly by.

I can understand anons situation and people mock him, that his inability to gain success is not the problem, that quality is already something not many people have.
Some level of complaint, or expression of dissatisfaction is understandable at some situations, like dating (for men since it has many layers) but I cannot get the "body acceptance" thing people made up. Unless theyre unable to lose weight due to some REAL illness, which most of them arent lets be real, they can just exercise? Or eat less?
Im not kidding here, I once argued with a "plus-size" women at doomer sub (that sub where people are literally considering to unalive) about this, she said "but...but... Gym is expensive!" And when I said just do pushups "OMG, you dont get it. We cant do pushups because were already overweight" no matter what solution you come up they will find an excuse to not do it

It always could have been worse, and sometimes you’re parents give you more than they can afford. I don’t about anon, but I’m honestly glad to be with my parents, and while they do have their flaws, they spend more on me than themselves and I’m happy with the opportunities I get. I’m don’t know about anons background but I have friends too, who get much more than me, but I guess just take the opportunities at hand and accept the hand that you have been dealt. Probably been said a lot before, but just wanted to write it somewhere
