Things to learn about Austrália

I am 27 years woman from Brazil. I am Bachelor in International Affairs/International Trade and I was approved in Working and Holiday Visa (462).
I am from São Paulo, a big city in Brazil and I've chosen Australia because it was my dream since I was a child. I would like to know if Australians are racists, or if hard to find a job. I would like to go with skilled visa but I guess I am going to work as a elementary jobs as cleaner, recelcionist and it is not a problem... But I would like to know if they are racists or classist as well.

Racism in Australia is typically different from elsewhere. Its less obvious initially for non-locals. We call it casual racism, I doubt you'll encounter any, however.
In terms of employment, WHV will most likely pick up work in Hospitality or Retail jobs. Get yourself an RSA (responsible service of alcohol) and start handing in your resume or apply online when you arrive. Best job board will be www.seek.com.au
We are in the middle of a housing crisis so accommodation will be hard to find and expensive. Check the Facebook group FairyFloss for share accomodation.

Australians love people from the third world because they like to pick on them and bully them. I'm a moderately posh Brit and they despise me because I literally look down on them every day. They dislike first world people, but openly embrace third world people because they need some targets.
Also, it is very very humid in Sydney for very long periods. It's been extremely humid for the last month and it probably will stay this way until May/ June next year. Although humidity is not a new thing for me, it just hits so much harder in Australia. There is a reason why people from the developed world do not migrate here unless they are working class/ criminals seeking easy targets/ on the run.
There are also many women here, so dating market is very difficult for women.

You are talking about humid climate to a Brazilian one... I am living in São Paulo is like Melbourne in so many aspects. I would like moving to Hobart, it is part of my plans.
In addition, I am not care about dating or everything like that, I am only want to have new experiences living the first world, because I do not have a bad life in Brazil, I am not rich but I have great friends, supportive parents and good education in public university. I am lot look for a green card or whatever, so I just want to improve English skills and have good experiences as well

If you are of European / latin ancestry it's mostly a don't care
if you are of African ancestry it's a big care
If you are dark and "look" like you are latin, you "may" be tolerated
Australia has 26.5 million people in the whole continent
What that's like Sao Paulo and adjoining cities right?
Imagine Sao Paulo filled 93 white to 7 non-white with the majority of the non-white being either Aboriginal or Asian in ethnicity
THEN consider how you might stand out amongst 93% pasty white people.
MIGHT want to at least visit and see how you get along for a few weeks before shipping out for 6 months +
fair warning

I am brazilian with Italian ancestry, so I guess It wouldn't be a big deal... Yes São Paulo has 30 million people living here. I would like to go to Australia and stay at least 1 year. Thank you for your warnings!

Don’t listen to this guy he has no idea.
techrmd3@reddit
I don't think you have even been to Australia
Apart-Guitar1684@reddit
I live here.
techrmd3@reddit
and you are white no?... don't see how your living there or anywhere you claim to live has any impact to someone who is from multi-ethnic urban Brazil.
But hey I'm sure you have been to Brazil specifically Sao Paulo done business there and in Australia for YEARS so you know exactly how a Brazilian will be accepted by Australians who predominately from England, Whales, Scotland and Ireland... I'm sure you know mr I live here... while being very pasty white
do tell
Apart-Guitar1684@reddit
Yes I have been to Brazil, I’ve grown up in Australia, my Gf is Brazilian. So shut the fuck lol and I am half white.
Moron.
techrmd3@reddit
you are a lying liar
seriously Brazilian girlfriend in Aus... seriously
sure sure I believe you random internet person
you are "half white" in Australia... sure you are, maybe that works keyboard jockey but I've been to both countries and dated in both
So whatever fantasy you have of your Brazilian Girlfriend or whatever... does not match the sniff test... I bet you could not even detect someone speaking Portuguese... never heard of a Pastéis or how to properly pronounce it.
this is so absurd, on a random ask by some Brazilian going to AUS you pop up and just so happen have a Brazilian Girlfriend... absurd
the chances is zero of this being true

I thought it it was more like 40% Asian when I went there. No way it's just 7%
techrmd3@reddit
this is obviously where you were... vs other places
for example Sydney people are "very cosmopolitan" they think... but all their ethnic people are Aboriginal or Asian continent people.
In Australia there typically are very few people who are from Northern Asia, Africa, North America or South America.
Professional_Elk_489@reddit
I left in 2013 but it was firstly lots of Asians from everywhere incl Northern Asia, almost no Aborigines, quite a few, Sudanese from Africa, Colombians from South America, quite a few Americans and Canadians at uni, Jewish Russians, lots of Balkan & Greek Europeans, Turks, Maltese, many Brits and Irish, lots of western backpackers. The one country that was conspicuously absent was definitely Spain. Compared to Italians, French, Dutch, Germans, British barely met one. Also very few Nigerians or Jamaicans compared to UK
1294DS@reddit
Funnily enough Colombians and Brazilians are the largest Latin American groups in Australia now. Brazilians number 67k and Colombians 63k. A full list of countries by population in Australia can be found here.
1294DS@reddit
Australia's 18% Asian now according to the 2021 Census. That 7% figure is extremely outdated.
Apart-Guitar1684@reddit
You’ll be fine, there’s a lot of Brazilians already here, most people are fine, just like anywhere there’s a few not so nice people but it doesn’t mean everyone isn’t nice.
There’s plenty of jobs still about as well. Just need to look.
