Spains flooding to have potential impact on U.K. (and European) food supply chains

The horrific flooding have claimed multiple lives in the region but will have further impacts through the disruption to the areas food production. Over 30% of the U.K.s fruit and veg comes from Almeria where the impacts to crops and greenhouses is not fully assessed yet.
Another example of climate change disrupting food supply chains…

It’s ok. The food corporations will just use it as an excuse to raise prices yet again without giving a cent extra to the farmer. For example, my favourite Spanish olive oil used to be £7 for a litre. It’s now £15.

Don’t Ukraine and Poland have an excess of grain?

Valencià is a long way from Almeria. I'd don't think they got anywhere near as bad storms there. Certainly not 400 litres per square meter, like in Valencià.

The flooding wasn’t anywhere as bad in Almeria but a lot of the access roads and routes have been affected causing disruption. The storm also produced large hail which has caused lots of damage to the Almeria/El Ejido areas. Initial reports seemed to have over exaggerated the damage to greenhouses and crops though as the area damaged is reducing: EastFruit report million dollar losses to greenhouses from hail

The flood broke some rail lines that transport goods along the coast, that's what OP probably refers to.
