DMCDKNF@reddit
I'm fairly certain the full set are still somewhere in my parents' garage. As a little kid I love running my hands over the bumpy melted plastic.
DMCDKNF@reddit
As are these Christmas ones as well.
purplezeitgeist@reddit
Lol, totally remember the plastic pumpkin and the witch on the right.
RhoOfFeh@reddit
What the hell kind of flaked plastic was that, anyway? Probably something toxic, I imagine.
KinklyGirl143@reddit
I had the witch on the broom! I’d have never remembered if I hadn’t seen this.
ItalyTravelover@reddit
Me too! I have the turkey, santa and Rudolph ones! Just hung the turkey on the window. Thanks for the reminder, Ebonystealth!
KinklyGirl143@reddit
Yes! Rudolph too! I put them up each year until they disintegrated
Hilsam_Adent@reddit
...or you made them. Mama and I made the pumpkin one.
zsreport@reddit
We made some in elementary school, not as pretty as the one in this pic.
Hilsam_Adent@reddit
Toothpicks and fabric squares or crèpe paper and glue?
HostileDialect@reddit
We used colored tissue paper and glue with a paper plate base lol
zsreport@reddit
crèpe paper and glue
hannahbelle11702@reddit
And we used the eraser side of a pencil to push each little crepe paper square into the Elmer’s glue that was smeared all over the paper plate. Makes me want to do this project with my 1st grader 😂
Snelmm@reddit
Yes! And the elmer’s glue would make the dye in the paper run a little and make a colorful, gluey mess.
zsreport@reddit
That's right! Memory unlocked
Hilsam_Adent@reddit
Yup, and the toothpicks/fabric were jammed into one of those Styrofoam wreath bases.
You totally should do the project with your lil' one. Will very likely be a lifetime memory for them. I know it is for me.
DcubedWY@reddit
Although I definitely remember all of them, I’m not sure we had any. I do have a plastic shavings Christmas tree, though. I’d love to have loads of the plastic shavings decorations for all the holidays, they feel so cool and are so colorful.
PDM_1969@reddit
Definitely had the plastic pumpkin & witch as well as the Disney Haunted sounds record
Username_888888@reddit
I had these decorations and also the velvet ones.
Rude-Consideration64@reddit
My parents had them, then got rid of them during the Satanic panic. Because, you know, just the sort of thing a devil worshipper would put up, or putting up would attract devil worshippers, or something.
kellynch10@reddit
My Gram :) thanks for the memories
takigruba@reddit
Yep! All three!
SixtiesKid@reddit
I remember having this one.
ZipZapWho@reddit
Do I get extra credit for growing up in a house with all 3?
Tricky_Leader7545@reddit
100%
Tova_Borg9@reddit
And you also had this
HumpaDaBear@reddit
Aha! I was trying to figure out what spooky record we had. It was this one !
NomadFeet@reddit
OMG...I had forgotten all about this until I saw this picture!
galtscrapper@reddit
Was this the one where the screaming sounded like someone was climaxing? Lol.
Intelligent_Grade372@reddit
And the Chinese water torture..?
GogglesPisano@reddit
The whole album is on YouTube!
Tova_Borg9@reddit
And indelibly stamped in my brain.
Rikkitikkitabby@reddit
Who's got my skinny toe?
HumpaDaBear@reddit
Yep. Absolutely.
Emergency-Crab-7455@reddit
I had the articulated witch....but it got damaged beyond repair. But...I have the large skelleton & 6 "half size" skelletons, as well as 4 of the fancy "honeycomb crepe paper" table top displays & several of the vintage "blow mold" lawn display figures ( I collect Halloween items).
Went to an estate sale yesterday, bought (2) Halloween themed tamborines (child size). The noisemakers are hard to find (probably because Mom tossed them because the noise drove her nuts).
NomadFeet@reddit
You can get a reproduction of the witch! I have bought nearly every one of these paper decorations. I love the table pieces with the honeycomb fold out bases. https://www.vintagebeistle.com/vintage-halloween-jointed-witch.aspx
YamAlone2882@reddit
We had the big witch. I remember being so scared of that witch, I was even scared to come out my bedroom. If I had to leave my room, I would run out then run back in so she wouldn’t get me. I was 3/4 at the time.
One year the day after Halloween, mom told us the witch ate all our candy. Ole witch bitch😄
Happy Halloween!!!
Fit-Distribution2303@reddit
I remember that cardboard witch from grade school. 🤣
Candid_Elk2465@reddit
I might have some boxed up in my basement
nannerp@reddit
The pumpkin one is currently hanging on my front door
Klonopina_Colada@reddit
Omg we actually did
HandheldObsession@reddit
Yes and yes
RunningWineaux@reddit
With my freakin Cologuard test box on the bench to truly establish my GenX cred
Just_me5698@reddit
Mine is hanging in my front window due rn! Lol
Gomertaxi@reddit
You absolutely win this one.
UsualCharacter@reddit
Whoa! Memories unlocked x 3!
doa70@reddit
We had the witch and the jack!
Vinnie_Dime_1974@reddit
I still have the tall witch decoration.
izolablue@reddit
I think we had all of them!
bulanaboo@reddit
Definitely in school
oceansapart333@reddit
My mom was teacher. This reminds of her classroom decorations.
smokeehayes@reddit
All 3 🤦🏻♀️😂
kunduff@reddit
Had that pumpkin well into the 80s.
Suspicious_Bar9995@reddit
Between the immediate family we had all 3
ApeChurn26@reddit
Indeed! Grandparents had all 3 in fact.
Relative_Ad9477@reddit
We had all three. lol
Keldrabitches@reddit
That witch was one of the decorations for my Halloween bday party. She’s scary
lgramlich13@reddit

OkCap9110@reddit

Mrszeno34@reddit
Pumpkin is hanging in my dining room window!
BlackLakeBlueFish@reddit
We had the cardboard witch!
Millbarge_Fitzhume@reddit
So you've been in my old house. I think my mom still puts these up.
VisceralMonkey@reddit
All 3, but the plastics ones stand out in memory the most.
RivkaMila@reddit
I still have the pressed plastic ones. They are in my windows.
dibhunter@reddit
I have 4 different ones of the plastic figures. All hanging on hallway doors. Every year! Witch, ghost, pumpkin and an owl.
Leading_Attention_78@reddit
Yes to all three.
kevtay1969@reddit
Pumpkin for sure. The plastic texture was amazing back then.
enygmaeve@reddit
Yeah, seeing this pic unlocked a core memory of child me just touching the fuck out of that pumpkin. Endlessly mesmerized by that texture.
kevtay1969@reddit
Also had christmas same plastic bumpy texture. Memories….
enygmaeve@reddit
OH YEAH. The wreath!!!
RaspberryVespa@reddit
I had all of them. I had ALL the decorations, and then some.
Also, gluing bits of colored tissue paper to a cardboard backing to make a holiday decoration was a right of passage in second grade.
Wide_Breadfruit_2217@reddit
Love how the witch has short skirt so can see the legs move
12sea@reddit
That pumpkin! We had that pumpkin!
LibertyMike@reddit
Yep, had both the plastic pumpkin & witch! I don't believe we had the cardboard witch, but we did have a cardboard skeleton with the bendable joints.
Owhatabeautifulday@reddit
We had the pumpkin! I wonder where it is. Mom doesn't throw things away. Probably gave to my cousin.
Jamminnav@reddit
Green skull was my favorite
Bootyclapthunder@reddit
We had all of these and I had entirely forgotten about them until just now. Thanks.
toooldforlove@reddit
Yep. The 2 on the right. Before my mother decided Halloween is evil because the satanic panic, that is.
stevejscearce@reddit
Two out of the tree!
kkcita@reddit
My grandma
FLBirdie@reddit
Yup! We had all of those!
lazygerm@reddit
My family had the witch and the pumpkin.
Also a Christmas wreath and a Santa Claus.
Quixote511@reddit
I have bought all of the plastic popcorn ones again off eBay because I’m a kid at heart. They are up in my classroom and home
GogglesPisano@reddit
We had all of these when I was a kid.
I recently found the Witch cardboard cutout (and also the Skeleton version) in a store and now they're once again decorating my house for Halloween.
What_Next69@reddit
My parents still have theirs.
KarmicWhiplash@reddit
Don't forget the Black Cat!
panickedindetroit@reddit
I have the witch and the ghost hanging on my front door right now.
Apprehensive-Log8333@reddit
We had both of the melted plastic shred ones, I was fascinated with the texture. So toxic
Little-Efficiency336@reddit
They were on my home room door for my classroom in elementary school. Every. Single. Time.
StructureHuman4720@reddit
We had all 3.
audvisial@reddit
I have the one on the left on my front door right now.
CK_Lowell@reddit
I remember these from elementary school
Automatic_Fun_8958@reddit
I wish they would bring these back. Classic
starcom_magnate@reddit
We had all 3, and a Skeleton version of the Witch with articulated limbs.
LegitimateEmu3745@reddit
I always wanted to eat those! They looked like cornflakes covered in colored marshmallow!
outerlimtz@reddit
we had all the halloween and christmas melted plastic ones. Loved those things. However, if you stepped on one in bare feet, it was like walking over legos.
Substantial-Art-482@reddit
Still have the pumpkin!
Substantial-Spare501@reddit
We had the witch. Loved her so much.
agravain@reddit
we had the pumpkin and the witch.
easauer@reddit
We had the paper witch on our front door. Loved her!
Alarming-Jello-5846@reddit
Millenial here but you just unlocked a core childhood memory for me
Bluepilgrim3@reddit
I wanted to eat that pumpkin. It was too beautiful to be made of hard plastic and deserved to be buttercream frosting.
Idislikethis_@reddit
My grandparents had the two on the right. I really wish I had snagged them when we were cleaning their house out. Hopefully one of my relatives did and they didn't get thrown out.
Fancy_Average5440@reddit
Yeah, we had them for Halloween and for Christmas!
xiewadu@reddit
I had all three
Fit-Nobody6078@reddit
We had the pumpkim
TomatoesAreToxic@reddit
Same!
SpyderDM@reddit
I think we made a bunch of those?
jffiore@reddit
Oh wow, yes! All of them.
Monkeynutz_Johnson@reddit
Yes, I remember the ones made from melted plastic shavings. The paper ones with rivets at the joints were in every school I ever went to.
