Get a job where you work outside. Warehouses have no natural light. I tried working a warehouse job and I lasted 3 months. I was so damn depressed coming home every day threli just wanted to sleep and I was always tired.
Trades jobs are way more fulfilling than tech jobs since your net benefit to society as a trades person is more tangible. Most builders I know can drive by any given street in my city and tell me, "I helped build that house right there" or "I built the framing on that buying 20 years ago." IT people can't just walk up to any average joe and say "Im a telecommunications engineer, " and expect them to know what you even do. The benefits to society are there, but not as obvious.
This is one of those people who think getting SSI disability is equal to winning the lottery… it’s not. The most miserable, depressed people I have ever met have been on long term disability. Completely dead inside. But if they could just get a little more money all their problems will be solved… it won’t.
My problems would be solved with a moderate amount of money. 250k$ would be enough money to never need to work again, but I would, just not for someone else's business.
I live in Poland in Europe. It's a fairly first world country but still if you come in with foreign money you're set for life, or several lifes if you can own a living place instead of renting from someone.
I've got a good bit more than that. Redpill me on poland as moderately wealthly amerifat. I'm lazy and probably won't put much effort into learning your language.
English is taught at schools but you would probably quickly get tired of not being able to talk with anybody anyway. Only some people actually know english, most doesn't seem to do anything that required english ever so after school they simply forgot if they ever learned anything.(I've had like 6 years of learning german language and still learned nothing)
Out of the few that know english, spoken english is a whole different thing as almost nobody here ever needed to speak it, only read/write with it.
I'm talking with people online for a few months now but it's sometimes still hard to understand for people.
Just because you don't like the bullshit of modern work means you want to be a welfare leech. You could just want a better job that doesn't treat you like shit which is in short supply.
That's because in order to qualify for disability you need to be, well, disabled. You need to convince multiple doctors and officials and finally a literal judge that you are unable to work, any job, forever. It's insanely hard to get disability in the US.
For example, if you lose one arm, you do not qualify for disability. You need to lose 2x appendages (arms or legs) or lose a leg at the pelvis to qualify. Basically the only people who qualify are people who have greatly limited life spans and quality of life.
And then they get access to their partially funded social security, maybe bolstered by SSI to the poverty line, with every dollar you earn from every other source taken away from that amount. It's not a fun life.
I don't mind my job. It's pretty physical so it keeps me under 300lbs lol. I do wish I didn't have to work as much tho. If I could get by on part time, I 100% would.
Idk, I'm just a big dude, always have been. I was 6ft/200 at like 13, and I'm at about 7ft/270 now. I can't imagine being a hundred pounds lighter lol.
I've never been closer to killing myself during the downtime between jobs and school. The only people who actually like being NEETs are fundamentally the most broken people on the planet.
Could not disagree more. It may seem like 100x the BS, and it is more, because you have to do everything. But because you're in control it FEELS like 1 percent of the noise and nonsense - and perception is reality.
I knew a doctor that liked long vacations. Your time off must include fear and uncertainty. Maybe you are worried about getting fired or something. If you can pick up a new job or you know you are needed as soon as you come back, you won’t feel this way. If you know you won’t get cut off from the resources you need you can be a neet and happy. When you are useless and people are trying to change you into something good. It is just something bad
Retail is the only job I can think of that felt like the ultimate humiliation ritual. We've all seen the 'dance wagie dance' video from Walmart. Even in the UK retail chains are exactly the same. If retail chains didn't treat you like a puppet, forced to dance and smile for the corporation then it would be bearable.
Actually a good hypothetical question. Never work again but the local average salary for where you live is deposited into your bank monthly, you cant do any kind of paid work but you can do volunteering if you want. You can do whatever you want with your free time.
Downside is you can't ever have sex again, your dick doesn't work and feels absolutely zero pleasure from any kind of contact with another person. You can still beat your meat as normal.
If all birthrate were plummeting it would be a net benefit for everyone. The biggest problem with no upward mobility now is there are fewer upper positions because older people have them and resources are to limited for the amount of people we have. But, birthrate are only plummeting for first world, developed countries. The rest of the world is still has expanding populations and are shipping people over to the first world countries to supposedly "prop up" the lower birthrates.

There is a chronic shortage in fulfilling jobs in the 2024 economy. However, real work is super fulfilling. We're meant to do something.

250k?
that's enough to barely live under the official US poverty line for ~20 years.
I guess you could move to a cheaper country

It sucks because a lot of them really want to go back to work but they are afraid of losing their benefits if it doesn’t work out. They get stuck.

You don’t have to work. I know a few people who don’t work, don’t do shit. It’s an option for you if that’s your thing but I don’t recommend it.
