What UK based YouTube creators should I check out?
Posted by itsjustaride24@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 210 comments
I’ve realised that the algorithm has fed me ever more US centric content and I’m tired of it and want to learn more and hear more about my own country and support UK creators.
But… I have been looking around and the sort of stuff recommended to me is just stuff I don’t care about like internet culture, pranks, football etc.
I’ve found so far:
Mark Ellis Reviews ( tech ) Dr Becky ( astronomy ) Rocketpoweredmohawk ( F1 talk and comedy ) Mrwhosetheboss (tech) James Hoffman ( coffee ) James Smith ( fitness and mindset ) The School of Life ( Philosophy )
So… I would love some UK centric recommendations please!
Other creator types I would like to find would be around
movies and TV History Science
Thank you to those who answer!
Unusual-Treacle9615@reddit
Lindybeige an eclectic mix of everything and does not make content for contents sake. He does a fair bit of war stuff, old weapons, tanks, trips, life stories ext. Hes a nice guy and very if you like he's humour, plus he does most of his videos in one take which is refreshing and often leads to him getting aide tracked which is always fun https://youtu.be/lF1JV1eTZVw?si=ee88n0ipxG1Fz7vF
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
I love people that go off on funny tangents . Very relatable!
Unusual-Treacle9615@reddit
Kool, give them a go
litetaker@reddit
Jay Foreman, Techmoan, Geoff Marshall and Jago Hazzard for train nerds, P1 with Matt and Tommy for F1 content. Oh and how can I forget Tom Scott!
There are more that I follow I think, but these are my top recommendations.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Thanks for the F1 suggestion! Not had many of those so far.
crucible@reddit
Nothing is going to come close to RPM…
Not British but Josh Revell is Aussie and does some good motorsport videos, with some good humour too
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Yep I couldn’t agree more on RPM he’s a one off lol
crucible@reddit
He has me appalled at what he’s said while I’m choking with laughter, yeah
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
😂 Same here
litetaker@reddit
Matt and Tommy are fairly big deals for F1 content. They have several interviews with drivers on the grid, and have been doing shows for a year or so. They used to be part of WTF1 but I think Tommy sold it to another entity and over time the other entity ruined it and they left and started their own thing.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
I like polished but low key personal vibes in YouTubers if you know what I mean. When they start to look like a TV channel and it’s all super polished it feels soulless to me.
PiscineIllusion@reddit
Stefan Milo is British, though he lives in America, but he does archeaology.
Ashens of course, if you like tat. Nostalgia Nerd and Techmoan for tech.
Atomic Shrimp for literally anything. Seriously, I've seen his channel described as "One man cataloguing his hobbies".
Lindybeige for history, althoug he has a disproportionate amount of videos about 20th and 21st century wars, I would say.
J Draper for some great history videos, mainly about London.
Jay Foreman has his Map Men and Unfinished London series that are great.
WonderWhy is a Scottish guy with a lot of decent educational videos.
Zepherus' back catalogue of educational videos is great. I say that because his uploads are a rare sight these days.
Mr5wift@reddit
Atomic Shrimp's videos shouldn't be as compelling or interesting as they are. I mean that as a compliment too. I just watched almost 2 hours of him cataloguing pebbles on a beach, then 20 mins of him using a glass frying pan and this morning reviewing a tin of Heinz Carbonara...
clbbcrg@reddit
Like nothing else I watch but can’t not!
phatboi23@reddit
the man just uploads anything and people watch it, absolute content goldmine that is as a creator!
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
So many great recommendations. Is Stefan Milo miniminuteman or am I getting my YouTubers mixed up?
Shadocvao@reddit
miniminuteman's name is Milo. I had the same thought until i googled it Stefan Milo .
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
He’s Milo Rossi I think lol. Confusing given they cover similar stuff!
PiscineIllusion@reddit
They did a collab recently. Miniminuteman is American, and much more annoying to listen to.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
😂 I kinda like him but I get where you’re coming from.
PiscineIllusion@reddit
I got sick of half the video being about what cocktail he was making in this episode, and other stuff that wasn't actually relevant to the topic at hand.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
He stopped doing that from what I’ve seen.
KyralianKyliann@reddit
Strongly agree with anyone recommanding Lindybeige and Jay Foreman. I'd add Cambrian Chronicles, for medieval and especially Welsh medieval history.
PiscineIllusion@reddit
That's a channel I keep getting recommended that I haven't actually bothered to watch yet.
Quick-Minute8416@reddit
Auto Shenanigans
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
This one’s coming up a fair bit so I better have a look.
That_Organization901@reddit
Someone on Reddit described him as a person being forced to make content about roads against his will and I’ve loved that description of his channel ever since.
Plus_Pangolin_8924@reddit
If Jack Dee did a car show. Is the best description I could come up with.
mdzmdz@reddit
It's wicked sweet awesome.
samsungraspberry@reddit
There is a button specifically for that
phatboi23@reddit
one of my favourite sunday watches :D
bruins-flier-0u@reddit

itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
This is a great fit. I love learning where words come from!
Qyro@reddit
Dr. Geoff Lindsey is another good shout then.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Cheers.
Unable_Buy2935@reddit
rose and rosie, for saphic comedy and gaming and jessica fozzard green( i think her name is, general lovely person who does a bunch of stuff
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Thanks for these unique suggestions!
dr-tectonic@reddit
TomSka & DarkSquidge (second channel) for humor.
Eddache for overthinking kids shows
No Rolls Barred for boardgaming etc
Hbomberguy for long form essays
Qyro@reddit
I was going to suggest No Rolls Barred (literally watching them right now), but wasn’t sure they’d fit OPs interests.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
That 3rd one made me chuckle I can’t lie 😁.
Cheers for these!
mjwb99@reddit
Geowizard ... he does random walking missions like straight line walking across wales etc... random but great to watch (he does some geo guessing videos but check his walking/adventure ones out)
Qyro@reddit
Geowizard is a hard yes. Don’t think I could ever get sick of him.
Top-Bet1435@reddit
Is he the 'how far can I get with a tenner' guy?
BoingBoomJimmy@reddit
Yep. The Cornwall episode he uploaded last weekend was a delight.
Top-Bet1435@reddit
That came up on my recommended today. I'll give it a watch.
Charming_Ad_6021@reddit
Definitely worth it. His "how not to travel" Europe and US are also fantastic.
_Acg45@reddit
Great shout
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
That sounds different and I like the outdoors so cool thanks!
ashyjay@reddit
Please do not fall down the RPM rabbit hole, he's r/formuladank personified.
Auto Shenanigans is good if you like random pub trivial.
phatboi23@reddit
RPM gets me every time with his proper rants haha
crucible@reddit
His rants about “PUAL” di Resta amused me
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
I don’t take it seriously it more comedy for me.
Ginger_Tea@reddit
Brother watches him and some guy who films in his loft.
Loft guy is more serious news, but RPM is just for fun.
He watches other F1 content from other countries and styles of presentation.
For retro UK TV, he used to watch the foot of our stairs.
2nd nostalgia nerd and tech moan if you like or are curious to learn about old and sometimes obscure tech.
Like the 3rd horse in the HD DVD/BluRay race that I never knew of and I had a v2000 tape.
HD films on VHS tapes, too little too late, but 1080p and not 360/480 if that of standard VHS.
SamwiseTheOppressed@reddit
Auto Shenanigans is a surprisingly enjoyable channel given what might seem on the outset to be a boring subject matter (Britains motorways at first, now short road trips). Each 10 min video is full of interesting nuggets of information, and usually a few drone shots of a field that used to be an airfield during the second small disagreement of 1939-1945.
It’s going some way to filling the Tom Scott shaped hole in my viewing.
phatboi23@reddit
it's the absolutely dry humour that gets me every time haha
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Yeah I haven’t seen all of Tom Scott but he’s good. Seen him give talks in real life before I saw his YouTube.
scotleeds@reddit
Steve Marsh, a Scottish travel youtuber. Does a variety of mostly domestic and international travel videos. Comes across as a really nice and positive guy. He covers the less glamorous, bit really interesting travel. His latest video is on a Denmark to Iceland ferry for 3 days!
crucible@reddit
I quite like Travelling Turtle - he’ll set ‘challenges’ like “can I cross Wales in a day? BY BUS”.
HalfBlindAndCurious@reddit
Brilliant channel and I can also recommend his droll Scottish counterpart Scott from Planes Trains everything..
ZealousidealPlate241@reddit
Ray's Reviews 👍

PainExtension3272@reddit
Any good UK centric news channels?
litetaker@reddit
Sky news, BBC news and many others have live broadcasts on YouTube
PainExtension3272@reddit
I meant more independant, like philly d
litetaker@reddit
TLDR News then
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
I think I’ve seen that channel here and there. Does it lean toward either party?
litetaker@reddit
They claim to be neutral. I think they are, but then again everyone will feel very differently when it comes to politics.
Technically BBC is also relatively neutral but we all know just how much everyone disagrees with that depending on the story.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
I’ve seen a lot of American news channels thanks to YouTube and boy oh boy if people think the BBC isn’t impartial… Talk about hold my beer.
litetaker@reddit
Exactly! News channels are significantly more regulated and tame in the UK.
LordTwaticus@reddit
They're left leaning
Pentax25@reddit
Hbomberguy and JimmyTheGiant are probs my fave two British YouTubers rn. Jimmy does really great videos on British culture and trends in the UK based on geography, infrastructure & socio-economic changes but explains how it actually impacts things in real life like the decline of the high street.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
So many videos on YouTube from UK about the decline of the high street
Pentax25@reddit
This is true, but unlike others Jimmy looks into all the small decisions that have been made that culminated in it and why it’s actually a really important thing to try and maintain. It’s not an overnight thing solely caused my Amazon for instance and I think it’s given me a broader perspective on how things are connected
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Sounds interesting. So much of this stuff is a perfect storm of negative changes.
Pentax25@reddit
Yeah I agree, sometimes it’s tough to filter it all. He usually ends it on a positive note though like for instance his high street video he talks about how some successful streets are evolving into experiences rather than just shopping
thecraftybee1981@reddit
Just went through my feed and these are the ones who I remembered are British. I have plenty of others but they’re much more niche subjects.
Hope you find some new channels you enjoy. I know I’ll be checking some out some that others have recommended.
Abroad in Japan - an Englishman living in Japan
Certifiably Ingame - Star Trek Lore
Crecganford - World mythology
Cracking the Cryptic - cryptic crosswords, sudoku and other logic puzzles. Two presenters who are both lovely and fiercely intelligent.
Cruising the Cut - Man in a narrow boat, exploring the U.K.
Dan Davis History - Stone-Iron Age history
Dr Geoff Lindsey - English Language/Accents
Fully Charged Show - Batteries/PV/electric cars/transition to net zero.
Great Art Explained - does what it says on the tin
Great Books Explained - see above
Gresham College - lectures on various subjects by fascinating speakers. Love the Ronald Hutton ones.
In Deep Geek - Lord of the Rings/Witcher/Game of Thrones Lore
J Draper - fun and serious bits of history of London/UK
Jags Hazzard - London Underground/mass transit
Jay Foreman - fun, quirky videos on UK history, geography
Just Have a Think - introduces new technologies around Net Zero
Leave Curious - a channel about rewilding/protecting the U.K. and helping the planet/nature
Letters Live - who’s who of celebrities reading out famous and infamous letters
Moth Light Media - Paleontology
Pasta Grannies - an English lady travels Italy and has Italian grannies share their favourite recipes
RobWords - Etymology and quirks of English
Simon Roper - Language history
Shoot from the Hip - improv comedy
Tom Scott - Explores unusual things around the world, from mundane to extraordinary
Tommo Carroll - Fun self improvement? Sweet guy
Wildlife Aid - the main presenter died recently so I’m not sure about ongoing current content - but still contains animal rescue in southern England - heartwarming stuff
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Wow thank you for that list. A lot to check out. At this rate with all the other suggestions I'll have like 100 new channels lol. It's great though. Thought I would mention I used to love Fully Charged when it was just the two of them they had great chemistry. Did you ever check out Johnnys solo work after he left?
thecraftybee1981@reddit
I haven’t checked his new channel, but I also haven’t watched the channel as much this year. I pick and mix from their content as cars don’t interest me, but I like some of the home stuff.
thedeerhunter270@reddit
ATP Geopolitics - at the moment all he talks about the war in Ukraine. But I do find some most of it interesting.
And Joe Bloggs - he does (actually can't describe what he does) global finance.
p4ttl1992@reddit
I'm watching Backpacker Ben, he's currently travelling around Asia/China and the videos are interesting.
efitchuk@reddit
Sorted Food, Joolz Guide, GeoWizard, Tom Scott… these are a few my partner and I both enjoy watching. Some travel couples who are Brits - Kinging It, Camper Vibe, Travel Beans are all quite fun. Also Abroad in Japan is a British ex-pat who is a good entertaining watch
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Cheers!
PurahsHero@reddit
Jay Foreman - Posts irregularly, but the Map Men videos are brilliant. As are his London videos.
Outside Xbox / Outside Xtra - Very wholesome gaming channels with a cool sense of humour.
Tom Scott - Doesn't post videos anymore, but his back catalogue is brilliant if you just like finding out odd little bits about the world.
Geoff Marshall - Amazing if you are a transport geek. His other channel - All the Stations - has videos from when he travelled to every rail station in the UK.
Paul Whitewick - For some brilliant videos about random bits of history. Usually involving wandering around an iron age hillfort.
DrewidN@reddit
Strangely addictive, and the very definition of sporadic, (two years between the last two releases), Bad Obsession Motorsport's "Project Binky" is the ongoing saga of squeezing a Celica engine and running gear into a classic mini, bit it's so much more than that description suggests.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Sounds like madness lol
wealllovefrogs@reddit
Sunday League Strolls
I don’t like football. I don’t particularly like YouTubers. This channel is completely addictive and what the internet was made for.
ForeverAddickted@reddit
Bunch of Amateurs is apparently very good as well - Never watched it, but know a lot who enjoy it
waxfutures@reddit
Ogmios is a legend, his Zen Motoring stuff is brilliant too.
ForeverAddickted@reddit
Thomas Heaton if you quite like Travel / Photography
SamVimesBootTheory@reddit
The Welsh Viking is a good one
faithlessone423@reddit
Seconding this one!!!
deadeye-ry-ry@reddit
If you're into gaming
Daz games
Pinkstylistplays
Non gaming stuff
Map men
Wild your garden ( if you like gardening)
Tech spurt
Off the hook
Collinfurze
Craignotcraig ( if you're into shorts)
Sr2bdude if you're into Splatoon
And if you want to watch someone fuck up basic meals then Kay's cooking is a fun watch.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Thanks for all these suggestions!!
bruins-flier-0u@reddit
Francis Cade if you like bikes / cycling. Even if you don’t, road trips across countries with friends are great viewing, they just happen to be doing them on bikes.
Kud13@reddit
Any of the many channels by Simon whistler. And thoughty2
Peter_Sofa@reddit
Here are some random ones:
Ringway Manchester - on the surface seems to be a ametur radio YouTuber, but he often goes down somewhat surreal rabbit holes about 'number stations', secret stare radio communications and encrypted radio communication.
That Bus driver guy - literally that, it's a London bus driver who makes videos about his job
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Watched a video once of some UK guy visiting disused number stations. I learnt a lot.
ChristmasGoddess@reddit
Wheelie Yellow is a great short form comedy account from someone parodying van life - very delightfully british and amazing camera skills
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Comedy is great thanks for suggesting some
ScaredMight712@reddit
Map Men - pretty sure you can guess what their channel is based around. Love the humour.
Nolsoth@reddit
We're the men and these are the maps.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Thank you for the suggestion!
Willing-Cell-1613@reddit
The channel is Jay Foreman and he does lots of educational but funny series, Map Men is one of them.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Yeah I noticed that when I searched for Map Men.
HenshinDictionary@reddit
Map Men is not a channel. It's a show on Jay Forman's channel.
Benkee@reddit
As it’s Halloween, I’ll say Lazy Masquerade.
ParpinOver@reddit
I strongly recommend Joolz Guides, this excellent series hosted by Julian, a London tour guide, he explored different areas and tells you about it's history, geography and points out it's must see attractions.
VenZallow@reddit
Evan Edinger, an American/Brit that lives in London.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Foody slant, thanks for these!
shortymcsteve@reddit
Abroad in Japan is really good. The channel is about Japan, but the host is British and it feels like a travel show a lot of the time.
Also, when the pandemic hit I realised I needed more UK centric content too. Ended up listening/watching the Trash Taste podcast. It’s 2 British guys and an Australian also in Japan. It’s supposed to be an anime podcast, but it’s not really (I don’t like anime). The best episodes are when they have the Abroad in Japan guy on. Lots of relatable takes and arguments between them. They also do some “challenge” specials that are fun, and those guys sometimes appear on the Abroad in Japan channel.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Thanks I’ll take a look at these.
Brickie78@reddit
Don't know if you're interested just in current F1 but I run Turbos & Tantrums, going race by race starting in 1981, with bits of "current" news for context. I've made it to 1992 so far.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Cheers I’ll take a look. I used to follow it as a kid.
LordTwaticus@reddit
Atomic Shrimp. His videos are a bit of everything in a distinctly British and charming package.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Thanks. Love the username 😁
Top-Bet1435@reddit
Simon Whistler does videos for a few channels. A lot of history videos etc.
Britannica - travels to places you wouldn't necessarily travel to; Taliban controlled Afghanistan, Serbia, Zimbabwe, Russia.
Full Fat Reviews - film tv reviews and essays
HenshinDictionary@reddit
Most of those channels are American, he's just the guy they pay to read the script.
Ginger_Tea@reddit
Even if he set up every channel and pays the writers, he's still basically the face of the brand.
What culture is hosted by British and Irish people, scripts written wherever the writers live, but even if it was filmed in Denver with the same gang, it would still kinda feel British by presenters.
Simon's not even in the UK, somewhere in Eastern Europe or one of the bits of Europe I just assume are East.
If he gets replaced with some French guy, it would become a French show for me, even if in English. Because, unless I've never seen them in my feed, no other person has hosted any of the channels.
I think Karl Smallwood used to write for him before launching fact fiend (with Karl Smallwood) and when he's not in front of the camera it's with Dave or whomever.
Willz093@reddit
Prague I believe, honestly don’t know how that man manages so many channels!
Willz093@reddit
Love Trek Trendy, wish he’d make more videos, one every 2 weeks to a month just isn’t enough haha!
If travel is your game then I’d say Emma Cruises too, reviews cruise ships (never would have got that from the name right?)
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Cheers for all these I will check them out
Minionherder@reddit
ScotlandsMountains on youtube steaming boots on twitter.
Guy called Murray goes walking in scottish mountains, millions of vids great guy.
lostlad-derwent@reddit
Mike okay. Just a bloke travelling, gets himself in some right situations..
MrSteveBob@reddit
Depending on what (and if) music you like, Trash Theory is deeply informative and even has a series called New British Canon which focuses on British Bands
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Yes I do enjoy music. I only learnt in last few years some people don’t like music AT ALL which is wild to me but fascinating too.
I-Am-The-Warlus@reddit
Unusual Things - cemetery vlogger, guy who goes to different graves and talks about the deceased.
OSW Review - wrestling YouTube channel but does do reviews of films as well
Superhorrorbro - Horror games & lore of the said horror games
Evil Among Us - true crime channel
Celtic Warrior Workout - fitness channel
WrestlingBios - wrestling channel that covers the Monday Night Wars
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Thanks for the suggestions!
ImScaredSoIMadeThis@reddit
Philosophy Tube for (surprise) philosophy
Tom Nicholas for political essays
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Since adopting some of these YouTube already recommended Philosophy Tube! Looked good the one I started watching.
Thanks for the other suggestions!
ComprehensiveAd8815@reddit
I heartily recommend Escape to Rural France - where Brit Dan and his pals are rebuilding a burnt out ruined chateau, diggers, dogs, noggins and sheer grit
banwe11@reddit
Lindybeige
PatternParticular963@reddit
I second this
mdzmdz@reddit
Alexander the ok - Mostly "spaceships" but also some early computing.
Nathan Baggs - Reverse engineering software and other programming stuff.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Some different suggestions thank you!
Mrteamtacticala@reddit
If you like gaming, filmmaking (fun skits every now and then) and have quite a crass, rude humor. Check out three lads called hatfilms.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
I’ll take a look thanks! Don’t object to a bit of crass humour at times lol.
brokencasbutt67@reddit
If you're into gaming - Daz Games or Fizhy
If you're into history, try Decades or TheJollyRetriever
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Cheers!
aje0200@reddit
The B1M is an architecture/building entertainment channel. Shows behind the scenes on mega projects.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Thanks. Bit different to what I usual watch but I’ll have a peek.
aje0200@reddit
Also forgot one of my favourite channels. DIY Perks. DIY projects although his new content isn’t really doable by the average person.
Own_Glove845@reddit
Eliot Coen for films.
If you enjoy gaming I'd recommend Symbalily. She's adorable.
For tech I'd suggest Spawnpoiint and The Tech Chap.
Try The Chap's Guide for clothes.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Some fresh suggestions here thanks
elbapo@reddit
B1m megaprojects. Paul whitewick for roman hedge hiding.
Personally, i avoid simon whistler. Hes a talking head who doesnt really care what he reads and a saturation creator. Good luck to his and his strategy but not my bag.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Sounds like Simon won’t be my bag either.
aje0200@reddit
I always find his content hard to watch. He just rushes through and it’s obvious he reads off the script and barely knows any different
CanvasACP@reddit
Thoughty2 is brilliant for interesting content
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Fun name. I’ll have look thanks.
Connell95@reddit
That’s odd – I get loads of UK creators recommended to me on YouTube tbh!
A few excellent and very popular ones I haven’t seen mentioned already:
Steve Mould (science)
Stand-Up Maths / Matt Parker (maths and science)
DIY Perks (tech-focused maker)
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
It’s the algorithm I guess. I’ve initially been drawn to US based content because that’s what it initially showed me and it’s fed me more and more.
elbapo@reddit
Nottingham science
ewlu_evhs@reddit
Bald and Bankrupt is cool
Crookfur@reddit
Scotland History Tours: Bruce is a delight to watch and covers a lot of interesting stuff both big and small.
BristolBomber@reddit
Alec Steele - blacksmithing.
Really interesting stuff if you like a process.
Matt Armstrong - car rebuilding
I'm not even into cars but i quite enjoy the process.
Both can be a bit annoying but on the whole very enjoyable!
mattjimf@reddit
The thing I like about Mat Armstrong is the fact that most of the time, he doesn't really know what he's doing. Also, he works with his dad on cars, which reminds me of growing up and helping my dad (although having to press the break pedal 50 times at 8 years old when I wanted to be watching cartoons, wasn't appreciated at the time).
simpmeister92@reddit
BeardMeatsFood Rate My Takeaway Ed Chapman
LittleSadRufus@reddit
This question is asked a lot, but I'm always happy for it to be asked as great new suggestions come every time.
Didn't see it mentioned but I've recently started watching Harrison Webb, who does slightly gimmicky food videos (like going to the most remote restaurant or the worst reviewed), and although he has a sort of cocky young-Jamie-Oliver style delivery I've found him to approach everything very kindly and intelligently, with a refreshing almost childlike wonder. I gather he started years ago doing much more viral type shenanigans, but evolved into food more recently and seems to have found his niche.
CGP Grey is UK based and does great fact videos with cartoons, fairly amusing while teaching us you something he's actively done original research on, not just summarising wikipedia. He's American if that matters, but UK based for years as he studied here and stayed.
Ogtriple11@reddit
Wandering Turnip
Fatboyonadiet4lyf@reddit
Was going to say WT too, he has a very open and natural style and has a passion for what he does
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
What’s it about?
Ogtriple11@reddit
He goes around different towns/cities/villages in UK and talks about their history, tourist sites and local High streets etc.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Oh that sounds cool!
PeaceDuck@reddit
Warographics for some geopolitics
TLDR news
Jon Gupta if you’ve ever been interested in mountains
Twiggy_15@reddit
CGP grey. Actually an American who's based in the UK, which I believe makes him British (home is where the heart is. Not where you're born).
UnfairBar5903@reddit
Eddie hall(former WSM), Tom Aspinall (current UFC heavyweight champion).
mdzmdz@reddit
Geoff Buys Cars - Generally the benefits of older cars, and some travel/challenge type vidoes involving them.
This one could also perhaps do with a warning as of late he does tend to go down the whole milk, cloud seeding, 15 minute cities, rabbit holes a bit.
mdzmdz@reddit
Count Dankula - mostly the "Mad Men" series, plus in particular the interview with Lord Miles.
I should probably give a warning that while I think the videos I've mentioned above could be enjoyed by most people the more "current affairs" videos may not be to everyone's taste.
mdzmdz@reddit
Techmoan - Mostly on the 'retro' side of audio tech.
Big Clive (and Big Clive Live) - Mostly electronics but some randomness as well.
David Savery Electrical Services - Electrician stuff delivered in his own unique style.
Thomas Nagy - Week in the Life of an Electrician type content.
Art of Law / Black Belt Barrister - Law
Bloke on the Range - Guns, though if you're picky Bloke lives in Switziland. Even worse Chap is French.
Jay Forman (aka Map Men) - Geography and such.
benzilla04@reddit
Bald and bankrupt and Backpacker Ben for travel vlogs, genuinely nice people too
Mongoose-Relevant@reddit
Didn't he get exposed for visiting those places for cheap sex?
arenicolamarina@reddit
Not what the judge said in Bald’s rape case.
QuasarCollision@reddit
Rob Words (Language) Auto Shenanigans (Roads) James Popsys (Photography) Micro Four Nerds (Photography) MrWhosTheBoss (Tech) Andertons (Guitar stuff) Curious Droid (Science and tech)
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)

Mongoose-Relevant@reddit
If you like guitars, that pedal show is great
60sstuff@reddit
Jago Hazzard is my favourite London/London transport history channel. He makes great videos
litetaker@reddit
Geoff Marshall is also great for train content.

Kent Survival is brilliant. He goes camping with lots of different gear, and often cooks really delicious food too.

I think pretty much every channel I watch has already been mentioned, so I'll just say The Tim Traveller. Sliiiiightly cheating as he's not technically UK-based, being a travel vlogger on the continent, but he certainly is British.

You could check out the ShxtsnGigs podcast more comedy and social stuff but it’s pretty good

Few comments on him. I think I’ve seen some of him in the past.
liquidpagan@reddit
He's been doing a project for a few years now of digging a tunnel throughout his property and it's just phenomenal to watch. His attention to detail, his planning.
I think the man is living most boys dream! I certainly have dreamed of an underground base since first watching Dexter's Lab

My picks:
John Rogers - He does walks across the UK and is very knowledgeable about where he walks. A really nice, gentle guy and has a great storytelling voice.
Geoff Marshall - He loves trains and rides the national and London Underground. He loves the underground and has some great video "series" such as "End of the Line" and "Secrets of.."
InThePast8080@reddit
History Squad with Kevin Hicks.. it's like your grand-dad telling you the stories of british and also other history.
itsjustaride24@reddit (OP)
Nothing much to watch but I am enjoying ASMR Historian.
BastardsCryinInnit@reddit
Jay Foreman - I love all his topics, and I think Unfinished London just edges out Map Men (Map Men Map Map Map Men... Men)
But it doesn't mean Map Men in terrible. It's amazing too!
