if you want to generalize, both average and median iq for both sexes are about the same at ~100 (this varies greatly per country, US is around 97)

however, the extremes are far more extreme for men, i.e most women cluster around average IQ, while men have more distribution around super dumb and super smart. ( AKA "great male variability hypothesis" in sci literature if you wanna read up more)

I'm an engineer, I'm talking about people with doctorates in engineering.

It's very possible to get one without learning anything useful, and now you've wasted 4 years learning about a niche topic that will never be relevant.

The smarter people are the people who realize that's a waste of time and instead just learn while they work.

someone with a doctorate or a thesis at the very least knows that theres always someone smarter than themselves regardless of gender, and they can at least write in coherent sentences and see cause relation yes or no.
