Does the snowball effect really happen? I mean can you really create a giant snowball like in the cartoons when you roll down a snowy hill? Similar concept to the golf ball effect.

Hey! It's been six years! But! As a kid, I have done that. Made a fairly large basketball sized snowball and pushed down a snowwy hill on warm weather when snow is really sticky and packs well.
What happens is that while yes, it grows, it tends to turn into a wheel and because it doesn't pack hard enough, it tends to just break apart and stop or fall over and stop. Even though I was rolling it down a fairly small hill, I don't remember it making it to the bottom. In fact, it never made it very far.
In cold weather it practically doesn't grow at all because powder snow doesn't stick well.

They had a cartoon special, where they dumped a barrel of gun powder down a line to see if it’d still light and follow the barrel, like in the cartoons.
On the Discovery website, they were asking for other cartoon related myths and I suggested trying to force an object through a wall with enough force that it leaves behind a hole their exact shape. It picked up traction on their forum. I was so hopeful they’d actually do it.

Didn't the ping pong cannon do exactly that. It shot a near perfect circle shape left behind from the ping pong cannon.

Yeah, but I was talking about a complex shape, like the silhouette of a body

Physics dosn't like things like that. Closest you'll get is if the object is a thin hollow bladed thing like a cookie cutter, or a very simple geometric shape.
