advice on applying for an internal position?

i work at a larger/bureaucratic company and applied for an internal position. I would really like to reach out to the hiring manager but dont want to come off too pushy after having submitted my application. Is there a way to reach out to further show my experience and enthusiasm earnestly? My current manager is on board but unfortunately not in the same org and cant help with a connection.

When I applied for an internal transfer and promotion, I made a point to get face time with the hiring manager before submitting an application. Basically made sure we “crossed paths” and had a reason to have a conversation (we were remote so this was tricky). Asked them bluntly about the open role and we talked about me submitting. Then went to HR and asked what the process was (also bureaucratic). Had to present it to my boss and get their approval to even apply. He went to his boss too. Everyone was on board and I applied after that.
If there is absolutely no chance you’ll cross paths, then your only option is email or land line.

i got too ahead of myself and put an application in before talking to the team manager. My current manager is on board, but shouldve done this beforehand.

I still think there is time to reach out to the team manager.
That way, when he sees your application/resume... he'll know it's someone in the company and he'll have a personal connection.

i wish i did this before submitting the application, i saw the job posting and with the job climate i got anxious and didnt want to see it close before getting my resume through. Now im in a odd position of having to interact with the manager with them knowing my intention beforehand which adds some unintended pressure. I'll still reach out, but i def jumped the gun

I know this is old, but do you have any thoughts on ladderal.com. My thought is to exactly address what you were struggling with— directly connecting you with members of your (possible) new team
