Hi everyone,

I've been a laptop user for the past decade, but as I'm now finally setting in and mobility isn't that important anymore, I'm considering to build my first PC. Though I'm not exactly new to the gaming PC environment, this would be my first rig, so I'm seeking for as much advise as possible. Would the build below work? Could I cheap out on any of the components? My goals would be primarily for gaming at 4K120Hz, but I'd also use it for coding / data analytics (Python, R, Excel, Power BI, and so on). Here's the build:

PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QCHYnt

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900 3.6 GHz 12-Core Processor ($419.99 @ Amazon)

Motherboard: Asus PRIME B650-PLUS ATX AM5 Motherboard ($169.99 @ Newegg)

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 CL36 Memory ($84.99 @ Newegg)

Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive ($79.98 @ Amazon)

Video Card: Asus TUF GAMING GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB Video Card ($1180.00 @ B&H)

Case: Cooler Master MasterBox NR600 (w/o ODD) ATX Mid Tower Case ($99.99 @ Amazon)

Power Supply: Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 - V2 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($119.99 @ B&H)

Total: $2154.93

I purposedly left the motherboard in blank as I'm still looking into it. My current option is the ASUS B650-Plus, but I didn't decide on it yet. Should I look for something specific other than the size and if it's compatible with the AMD CPU?

Edit: I really don't care about RGB. The less the better.
