Not at all. It's one of the few phobias I have, deep dark water. Fuck that, no chance. Even if it was in a real submarine and not a hollowed out chest freezer with a Nintendo Wii gaffer-taped to it, I'd spend the whole trip with my eyes closed and thinking of England.

To be honest, it didn't look like a lot of "seeing" was even possible in the Titan sub. The window was very small, the monitor was very small, and you have a small crowd of others all blocking the view. I think it was more something to brag about being there, without actually gaining anything worthwhile otherwise. So no, I wouldn't, but I also don't live in that sort of atmosphere where the bragging rights might hold more personal value over anything else.

You'd be laughed by them... take Everest, you have to prepare yourself fairly well, you have to pay a lot of money (thus making it somewhat inaccessible to the common folk) and you're still risking your life for most of the journey. Sitting in a can, assuming it's safe as a military sub, to go down and watch a hunk of steel in pitch black isn't something you can be particularly proud about as it takes very little from you. It really isn't something to brag about... For that kind of money you'd have more street rep if you climbed the UK's three highest peaks on your own.

To be fair, there are lots of mass graves that people regularly go to, if only to pay respects or benefit from actual historical research - see the likes of Tyne Cot, the Thiepval memorial, basically all of the Somme battlefields, the Mary Rose, etc., etc. I think what makes this one very different to a lot of mass graves and memorials is the potential monetisation by private companies of the very real danger in getting to it, just so rich people can say 'I saw the Titanic'.
