I hate that NFT has become synonymous with 'art' ponzi schemes to a point where people just assume it's all bullshit. The underlying idea to store immutable, verifiable ownership information on a blockchain is actually pretty neat. Too bad we will probably never see an actual, useful product utilizing the technology now, because no one wants to be associated with it now.
You're proving my point exactly. The only implementations of NFTs you've ever encountered are the flawed ones where the 'owned' asset is stored off-chain, which defeats the entire purpose.
Even if the art is stored in the nft itself, you've still just got a digital copy of something. There could be billions of others. How do you prove that yours is the original and all of the others are the fakes?
They usually are. The way this campaign works is that you have to purchase the NFT and then hold until an undisclosed time in 2026 before you can trade on market. Basically however many people, up to 20 that buy these, will learn in a year and a half that they just burned $2,600 USD. And what do they get for that... "Notifications on the next W3b IcOnS project. Smh... You can't make this shit up. It's such a scam that it's screaming it at the top of its lungs.. yet people will still buy them and get suckered into thinking they're making some great investment. And then get pulled along for another one, and another one, and another one. Because they've bought in, and now that they are holding the bag they can't let go.
Lmao I take it you've seen the depreciation of those over the last two years, if not it's down like 300%... Good luck with that though, sincerely hope you get your money back.

They made a Beretta billennium, kind of hinting at it for them just to never really have done it. And for tourist to make the better version of a Beretta.
52k is hardly a laundering business and many average people do buy these and have lost out on them.
Does money get laundered on the block chain, absolutely. Is this the idea behind this campaign and many like it, no. This is a crypto bro scam. They are increasingly being taken down by the feds in the US but I'm going out on a limb to say that Italy in all of its mafia backed glory is probably Aye OK with these sorts of operations.
To be clear, Beretta isn't scanning people, the company Beretta has partnered with on this venture is going to inevitably scam people out of their money. And then they will try to pull them along to the next venture.
NFT cash grab. Someone partnered with them, Beretta gets the advertising campaign, someone else gets the Blockchain pay out. 20 NFTs available at 1eth each that's a 52,600 pay out for the campaign. Average if you know anything about advertising, which I do bc I went to school for it before switching my major.
It's a scam at the end of the day. The people that buy these will never see a return on investment because nobody cares about NFTs. They just aren't lucrative and they have no real world value. And in the current state of the economy, that's all people care about.
It's a shame a reputable company was convinced by some cheesey wall street coke head to make an NFT campaign.
This why you shouldn't just let anyone on your yacht.
I dunno, why does Glock still sell horse jizz? It's just Europeans being European. Just stick to buying their less eccentric shit, and let them commit money laundering in peace.

Beretta, who the fuck is this for. Who the fuck is the target audience. Why the fuck isn’t it optic ready.
Automata1nM0tion@reddit
It's not an actual gun it's an NFT.

Ownership of a link to a page on website that can go down at any moment. It was always a scam.
