I feel that Ford's doing this to say it has a Bronco under $40,000.
hi_im_bored13@reddit
As long as you can actually buy one at that price, does it matter why they’re doing it? Sounds like good fun.
Have my doubts if you’ll ever find this spec in a lot though
Slideways@reddit
That's 20% more than a base Wrangler, and the same price as a Wrangler Willys with 33s and a rear locker.
christobevii3@reddit
2024 Willys with current discounts aren't bad.
TheNonExample@reddit
Hot take, but the base Bronco proportions are weird, but the Wrangler Willys has the combination of wheel/tire/fender that just looks “right.”
My totally biased opinion.
1PistnRng2RuleThmAll@reddit
2 door broncos look fine on 32”s, but 4 doors need the 35”s.
RacerM53@reddit
Better to drive than a wrangler though. No death wobble
mean--machine@reddit
Handles speed bumps at Costco better too
Slideways@reddit
Death wobble is a sign that something is loose that shouldn't be loose.
RacerM53@reddit
I know, but it's weird how only jeeps seem to have that specific issue
Slideways@reddit
It's not just Jeeps. It can and does occur on other solid-axle vehicles, Jeep just happens to sell the most popular solid-axle vehicles on the market.
JLead722@reddit
Vehicles with straight axles can get death wobble. Independent suspension vehicles dont.
Boeing_737_MIN@reddit
But it's almost guaranteed that you won't see that spec. Back in 2022 and 2023 I saw a fair number of base Broncos on lots. And historically the Bronco has been a bit pricier than the Wrangler anyway - it's a better vehicle.
MortimerDongle@reddit
Does Jeep not take orders?
Boeing_737_MIN@reddit
Only through dealers. Not likely that you'll be able to get one.
WordWithinTheWord@reddit
Wranglers also drive like a picnic bench in a hurricane if you try to drive them over 75mph
nissanfan64@reddit
You can just order it. Me and my girlfriend plan to. This is the first you could do a manual and base since like 2022. They limited the manuals due to issues for a long time then as soon as you could do a manual Order they dropped the base at the exact same time.
You won’t ever find the spec you want on a lot. That’s why ordering is basically the only way I’d ever buy a new vehicle.
BayLAGOON@reddit
Ford eliminated the 4.27 rear locker option for 2025 while turning the Black Diamond trim into an option pack for the Big Bend. My 2024 order snuck in with that locker option approved.
This is the first time I've ever ordered a car to a spec I wanted.
MortimerDongle@reddit
Ford takes custom orders, so it doesn't really matter if it's on lots, you can still get it
Conscious_Candle2598@reddit
Now do the Ranger plz!
JLOBRO@reddit
You mean, the maverick!
Drzhivago138@reddit
Both? Both is good. But a manual Ranger would be easier for them to make since it's the same platform.
istandabove@reddit
Focus RS or ST trans would work in the maverick.
apaloosafire@reddit
that’s cool
Conscious_Candle2598@reddit
God if they make a Manual Maverick over a Manual Ranger. I'm in.
ACG3185@reddit
This exact spec was $7k just three years ago 💀
kendrickdlr@reddit
Can’t believe I missed out on the $7k Bronco 😩
Dazzling-Rooster2103@reddit
So why can't the Ecoboost Mustang get a manual.
It's sick, but that's so sad.
Dan_TheGreat@reddit
Emissions if I had to guess. It has to be something in that realm. Believe the eco came with an mt82 as well so perhaps they’re bolstering anything they can to keep the v8 going in its current, and maybe next gen motor. Plus iirc the take rate on eco manuals was less than 10% so, 2 birds.
HiTork@reddit
I remember seeing someone trying to justify Ford was pulling Shenanigans by saying a good chunk of Ecoboost sales are to rental companies that usually only want automatics. I think their logic was that if you only took into account private sales, the slice of pie that makes up manual sales would be larger, or that Ford was using the combined rental sales as an excuse to kill off the EB manual.
swampfox94@reddit
Because no one bought any last gen lol.
mean--machine@reddit
Base with the Sasquatch package is easily the best deal for a new off-road vehicle.
KrazyCroat@reddit
Absolutely the right move. My wife loves and wants the Bronco, and as we don’t buy new cars anymore it would be perfect to get a well depreciated base model. We don’t want/need big tires, or any of that off-road stuff, base model is the right fit for us.
Business_Oven_3821@reddit
The base model bronco has seen a $11,000 price increase in only 4 years.
4score-7@reddit
Gaht dayum. That’s about 25-30%. I guess that new labor contract with UAW had a bit more expenses than I thought.
beermaker@reddit
Scout Motors has a supposed target starting price of $40k, they're unveiling their new electric pickup and SUV in seven days. I'd be surprised if base trim wasn't available on those too.
Shmokesshweed@reddit
Like the Cybertruck. 😆
beermaker@reddit
Production starts right around the time VW's Quantumscape solid state batteries debut in 2026. Battery prices are coming down dramatically, there's no reason to suppose VW will put their checkbook behind their off road brand.
The poserdozer won't even be in the same league. Magna Steyr doesn't fuck around designing 4x4's.
bgarza18@reddit
I’ll be coming back to this comment with a screenshot of the order price
beermaker@reddit
lol Do whatever makes you feel good, bud. I'm just glad there's better options coming.
2012AcuraTSX@reddit
Now if only we can see the price on it.
Ill-Train6478@reddit
Im actually interested in this and i never considered a ford or a suv/truck. Will be trading my manual wagon after test drive.
daxelkurtz@reddit
mcrib
DJMagicHandz@reddit
Did they ever fix the Ecoboost issues?
GTE_Engineering@reddit
That was on the V6, the manual only came with the 2.3 4 cylinder
Dan_TheGreat@reddit
Granted it was hard to get one when they launched but was the basic steelie model not under 30k when launched?

You're right, I was looking at the 2022 base price.
