Modern cars definitely lost the word 'sleek' to describe them. This thing looks like a hot wheels design
Celcius_87@reddit
I feel like the only one on planet earth that loves the way this looks
dvd_00@reddit
I cannot see it sitting alongside the big 5.
Educational_Age_1333@reddit
"The F80 has a V-6 and three electric motors for a total of 1184 horsepower. Only 799 will be built"
Conscious-Food1622@reddit
That V6 also revs to 9,250 RPM, which is nucking futs.
Percolator2020@reddit
Most Ferraris rev to 9k+.
Conscious-Food1622@reddit
Yeah, but those are all normally aspirated. None of their recent turbocharged engines (barring the 296GTB) go past 8000 on factory software.
Percolator2020@reddit
True, it is the highest revving turbocharged production car ever as far as I know.
MilkyGoatNipples@reddit
The V6 in the AMG One revs to 11K

Interesting…

Center lock wheels don't really add performance. Someone correct me but I'm pretty sure it's a bit heavier than standard 5x lug nuts. The point of center locks is to make tires changes quicker on pit stops, which hardly matters for a car like this.
max_power1000@reddit
It also means you essentially can't service the car yourself in any way, it's just expensive racecar stuff for the sake of it. Someone going out for 30 minute lapping sessions doesn't need to go through multiple pit stops per track day.
foreverablankslate@reddit
Can’t you just buy a big torque wrench?
Eraser92@reddit
Also, nobody who owns as F80 is ever going to do their own maintenance.
AwardImmediate720@reddit
Their only benefit is for endurance racing where fractions of a second on tire changes matter.
JC-Dude@reddit
It’s for any racing that involves tyre changes. On a road car it doesn’t matter and only makes things more difficult.
AnonymousEngineer_@reddit
Centrelock wheels on a road car is just bling with no real functional purpose except to make it appear like the car has racing parts on it.
It's basically the automotive equivalent of outdoors/camping kit being offered in a "tactical" version which is either matte black or in some kind of faux-military camouflage pattern.
reddegginc@reddit
Such a perfect analogy
Chi-Guy86@reddit
Obviously something I’ll never sit in, much less afford, but the styling doesn’t really do much for me. It’s not ugly by any means, just a bit generic. Styling preferences are subjective, of course.
Puffin77@reddit
You have a much more prestigious car anyways. The Mazda CX-5 turbo is essentially this car but with better driving dynamics and room for the family /s
Mojave_Idiot@reddit
I think it’s valid that more than 799 people with engraved invitations to have the luxury of spending 4,000,000 dollars can have opinions on it.
Fuck Ferrari anyway.
Chi-Guy86@reddit
I agree
ZestycloseCold9065@reddit
Looks like a Daytona sp3 just 3x uglier
workMachine@reddit
A brick. Show me some cuuurves!
SenhorSus@reddit
People in the comments being so defeatist about having an opinion on how it looks
"I'll never sit in one but..." "I cant afford one but..."
Fuck that. You're allowed to have a subjective opinion on the looks without having some actual attachment to it. Just say you don't like it. BE FREE.
ExcellentSinger2288@reddit
I argee with you 100% the design of the F80 is ugly. That design wasnt released it escape the factory.
Sargatanas2k2@reddit
I personally like it other than the black bar at the front. It looks retro and futuristic at the same time. Familiar but out there.
Each to their own though.
RodRAEG@reddit
It's weird seeing Ferrari's latest flagship supercar... and thinking how pedestrian it looks.
Enough-Scientist1904@reddit
Needed to look more like an f40. This looks like the next entey in rocket league
rayrayrayray@reddit
...and half the looks of the f40.
The Daytona inspired stripe on front is fugly. This looks like a generic hypercar from a video game that isn't allowed to use licensed manufacturers. Sure the power and tech will be insane, it will sell out to billionaires and be stored, but has no soul.
dangeroustentacles@reddit
I wonder how many people will buy it because they think it's cool and exciting rather than just to show off that thay have something rare. Maybe that's nostalgia speaking, but I'd easily choose F40 or F50 over this just another boring hypercar.
skerpz@reddit
Oh look, another stratospherically expensive, uselessly fast, supercar with a boring powertrain. I’m sure it will also be full of haptic controls, screens, and other bullshit. I guess this is what the tech bro billionaires buying these cars want.
humdizzle@reddit
"twice the F40 with a 25% less cylinders" they are using the v6 from the 296 with added boost and battery. seems pretty lame. if you want speed just buy a rimac. I bet LaFerrari values are shooting up after this announcement
TheOnlyElizabeth@reddit
and the weight ?
NoNewFriends1738@reddit
3300
humdizzle@reddit
thats dry weight. not real weight. probably looking at 3600 with fluids and gas.
TheOnlyElizabeth@reddit
not bad actually
3dmontdant3s@reddit
That's what 1200HP and AWD do to a car
gimp2x@reddit
I’ll take the F40 instead thanks
StackerOfWorthless@reddit
Looks like one those coal miner trolleys.
LoPanDidNothingWrong@reddit
Well that is remarkably unattractive.
PM_Me_Cool_Cars_@reddit
Front end just does not do it for me… Not that I’ll ever be able to buy one anyway
