I recall hearing the house was on Clarkson’s farm property when he bought it. Council probably didn’t like that either.
Adomatick@reddit
The whole town wasn't happy about it
Russer-Chaos@reddit
Can someone explain why they weren’t happy? I figure they’d just be indifferent unless there’s some sentimental or historical aspect of that home.
TylerInHiFi@reddit
Because blowing it up was hardly in keeping with the village’s rustic aesthetic, was it?

Because that town has a very large amount of older people who hadn't heard explosions like that since the war, as you can imagine that would probably be pretty damn alarming.
Russer-Chaos@reddit
Gotcha. Makes sense. Thanks.
SweatyMammal@reddit
I know they say they blew it up but.. Did they really blow it up?
I’m not a pyrotechnician but.. May/Hammond look way too close for an actual demolition. There’s barely any brick and concrete debris flying about the place. To me this just looks like they ignited bucket loads of petrol in the air like they do on film sets. Reckon they quietly got someone in to actually take it down properly
Mainbaze@reddit
As you can see there are multiple smaller explosions at critical construction points and then rest is gasoline
SweatyMammal@reddit
Yeah I think you’re right actually
Mainbaze@reddit
But you’re right it seems they could be close enough for an unlucky brick to be a possibility. Those smaller explosions still look powerful.
But for sure It doesn’t look like they’re cut into place because it would be a nightmare to make the overlay of May’s hair look flawless against the fire
Consistent-Ad-6078@reddit
I’d imagine the gasoline was substantially closer to them than the house, so that it would only project debris away from them, rather than towards
codec3@reddit
They did not and make mention of it in one episode of Clarkson’s Farm.
Riccness@reddit
Reading all the upset comments about the music and I'm over here like yeah this is pretty good lol. Must be cause I grew up with Green Day.

Thank you 😃

Lefthandedpigeon@reddit
Mid at best
HybridSammy@reddit (OP)
Well, as they say, I tried my best
Element_905@reddit
You should delete it. And just post the clip with the original sound.
shewy92@reddit
Stop being a kill joy, loser.
HybridSammy@reddit (OP)
I could… but no

It WAS Jeremy’s house and it WAS on his farm AND some of the townspeople are still mad about it, as they reference in his farming show. GIVEN THAT, it makes sense that they would record the footage for use, PLUS their team had plenty of experience of incorporating that kind of thing into their filming, SO it supports the idea that it’s all genuine footage and that CAPTAIN SLOW & the HAMMSTER are telling the truth.
It’s obviously pre-arranged and not the result of losing a bet, BUT WHY? On Clarkson’s Farm it’s readily apparent that Jezza loves the beauty of the old farm buildings, and he’s obviously spent a ton modernizing them while keeping the original bones and feel. SO even if it was a wreck with structural issues, it seems like he would still rather gut it with cool tools of destruction rather than just make a huge blast that will destroy everything around it as well….
It’s a question that’s always bugged many of us, I imagine!
Craneteam@reddit
I would say that his attitude to his farm has changed a lot and this was seen as a fun stunt for his primary source of income. And he probably didn't think that decision would still haunt him
lam3ass@reddit
I know whose house that was ….
HybridSammy@reddit (OP)
Yeah, Clarkson’s
