P226 MK25

First in foremost just joined the subreddit, I've had reddit before but no longer have access to that account. Thought I share my newest pick up, originally went to go buy a Glock 19 for carry, however seeing the MK25 just did it for me, it felt like it was calling out to me. Don't really care for optics on my handguns except for the home defense. I like to keep my carry guns plain and simple, and yes I will be carrying this, currently shopping around for holsters now. Anyways just thought I'd share, look forward to interacting with you guys.

Can't argue with the quality of HK, but I'll take my chances with my MK25.

Have you shot a standard P226 and how does it compare?
ChevyRacer71@reddit
I have a standard p226 and I got the mk25 for the wife as a wedding gift. They feel very much similar, but the mk25 feels a bit smoother as it cycles and overall feels a bit sturdier. This could easily be differences made up in my mind, so if someone else has both I’d be curious for their feedback as well.
If I had neither, I would buy the mk25. If I already had a p226 and wanted either the mk25 or something else in the same price point I would get the other thing if money was tight just because they’re so similar already. If shit hit the fan and I could only grab one, I’m grabbing the mk25 hands down. I got the mk25 for a very specific sentimental reason for the wife.

Never had any variant of a 226, I'll try to get out and shoot it this weekend.

The single action on this is great, the double action was ROUGH 😂
The_Paganarchist@reddit
Like most military pistols, they're WAY oversprung. It's a 2 minute part change, and it'll drop a good 3 lbs off the DA.
Skinny_que@reddit
Didn’t know that was an option 🤔🤔🤔
The_Paganarchist@reddit
Hammer spring and one of the aftermarket struts will make a huge difference. I'm running a 16lbs spring, and I've had 0 issues with ignition, even on steel case.
Skinny_que@reddit
You have a link for the spring?
The_Paganarchist@reddit
Here you go. This is a tuning kit so you can experiment.

Thanks

No problem.

It really is nice, got some thinner Hogue G-10 grips on the way, will be delivered Friday.

Very nice. I remember when my m11-a1 was new. Best pistol I've owned. So far I have over 15k rounds through that gun without one malfunction. Just change the recoil spring every 5k and your good

Thanks for the heads up, looks like I got alot to look forward too.

My favorite handgun to shoot. You can always get the G19 later.
Good choice.

That's exactly what I said.
