King Spa Dallas- Reputation

Im visiting Texas in January with a friend and we are wanting to do a day spa… curious if Ling Spa Dallas is a nice spa for a girls trip or if it’s meant for sketchy things or interesting people due to the nudity aspect. Looked at the Joule spa but it’s much more pricey. Concerned that the cheapness of King Spa brings in an interesting clientele and wanting to avoid that. What’re your opinions? What do people think of King Spa- obviously it’s not as nice as Joule but what’s its reputation

Locals don’t really go to the Joule, so can’t help you there. King Spa is cheap because it’s a an old jjimjilbang (Korean bath house) in Old Ktown. The better one would be Spa Castle, which is also a jjimjilbang, but it’s in New Ktown and is nicer. I’ve never heard of anything sketchy happening at a jjimjilbang, but if you’re not down for the Asian bathhouse experience then maybe one of the hotels/resorts is more your cup of tea.

I really don’t even know what an Asian bathhouse is so I’ll need to do more research. Looking for a place to get massages that has a sauna/steamroom too. Ideally even if it has a cold pool/plunge

King Spa has all that. I love going back and forth between the cold plunge and the sauna. They have Swedish massage but they also have acupressure massage which I love but which is very intense. If you want to try it I would only get half an hour - it can be tough if you’re not used to deep tissue.
I love Kjng Spa but just so you know it is more of a family hangout and vibe. You’ll probably see old Korean ladies (and all types of ladies really) nude in the wet spa. It can be a bit of a surprise but honestly I find the vibe very cool and welcoming and body-positive. You get everyone in there letting it all hang out and nobody cares. It’s awesome.

Yes, we locals do go to the Joule spa. I like it, but do feel it’s overpriced. Try Riviera spa in the Knox neighborhood and then go grab lunch somewhere in the area.

Living in Korea for 3 years i was excited to visit a bathhouse in Dallas. I went to King Spa last weekend and for 50$ I thought it was really nasty. The pool was ok, the Sauna were blah, the Nicky spa in the back was decent and the locker room was ok. I don't think I will go back.

Have you read up on what a Korean sauna/bathhouse experience is like? King Spa vs. The Joule spa are most certainly nowhere near each other in terms of the experiences. King Spa is cheap because it's a communal bathhouse, not a whorehouse; no frou frou seaweed wrap, but a grandma will exfoliate you and skin you raw if you want that experience.
To directly answer your question: King Spa is 100% legit. If you've never done a Korean sauna/bathhouse experience and aren't squeamish about seeing others sans clothing, it'll be a memorable time with your friend. For the fully nude part, men's and women's areas are completely separate.
