TLDR: AI For coral reef preservation with ReefSupport, We need inputs from marine biologist to help marine biologist in the future, 2m MAX survey, ty so much in advance

Hello! , we're enthousiastic students at TU Eindhoven and we are currently doing a school project about coral reef protection using Sparse points labels and machine learning techniques. In Collaboration with ReefSupport: https://www.reef.support/

This project wasn't focused surrounding marine biologist but more about how we could use AI technologies to help protect and advance current and future coral reef protection models.

After speaking with people working in the field, we learned that a significant amount of their time is spent on manually identifying and labeling different types of coral (e.g., soft, hard,). This process is not only time-consuming but also limits the amount of time experts can dedicate to more impactful tasks.

In our project we took as primary stakeholders marine biologists, and we want to better understand how we can make the annotation and labeling of coral reef images easier and more efficient for them. If you are a marine biologist, conservationist, or someone working in a related field, we would love your input! Even if coral reef annotation isn’t part of your regular work, we'd still appreciate your insights on how AI could potentially ease your workload, enhance coral reef protection, or support other conservation efforts.

I don't know if this is truly in compliance with the sub rules, but if its not we're sorry and will gladly take it down.
