how do Rex can's compare to CAT WB or a Hux 556k? I'm mostly interested in keeping gas out of my face for my 556 cans
CallsignFlorida@reddit
They’re a lot cheaper than the Hux, but I like my Flow556k a lot more for actual shooting and gas mitigation.
fourleggedpython@reddit
I am really leaning towards the Hux, the CAT seems to be a good deal too, just a tad quieter
CallsignFlorida@reddit
It’s 5.56… chasing dB’s is meaningless
BlueJay--@reddit
That's just what manufacturers who make crappy cans what you to think.
The CAT is pretty crazy
CallsignFlorida@reddit
5 dB difference between the CAT and Hux… what a wild difference /s
BlueJay--@reddit
I mean it kinda is.
The cat sounds way better on average and has almost no FRP while the Hux has a really crappy FRP.
Like of course it's not going to sound like subsonic 22 but the difference is massive and getting the better can is worth it.
thebucketmouse@reddit
What does this mean?
ChapelHillGuns@reddit (OP)
Apparently it means I copy and pasted some nonsense from the manufacturer's website :)
I would interpret that to mean you can run it on whatever barrel length you want, but if you're lucky enough to have a fun switch, then you need at least 10.5''.
nailer69420@reddit
There is only a length restriction if you also run full auto.
SacraficeMyGoat@reddit
Suppressor noob here, can the .308 be used with 556/.22lr? Also is this can user serviceable?
135patriots@reddit
Yes on 5.56. No on 22lr...I mean, it's technically possible to put a smaller diameter bullet thru a larger diameter can. But bad, ungood idea.
These cans are sealed which is why the 22lr idea is a bad one. You aren't cracking them open to manually clean the baffles as you would a rimfire can.
duke_flewk@reddit
Hey uh, 5.56 = 223 = 22caliber… and rex little suppressors are sealed and recommend using an ultra sonic cleaner, not ideal but that’s how rex be. It’s not bad just dirty and won’t be as quiet, to shoot 22lr through a 308 can.
SacraficeMyGoat@reddit
Great, thank you. Would the MG7K .308 be a good choice for 308/556? Looking for a good budget "do it all" can. I suppose I'll put the .22 can off for a bit.
grimduck17@reddit
Do all cans you’ll be unhappy with. I have an mg7k and it’s not fun on 11.5 sbr compared to a dedicated can. Same thing applies when I had an omega 300 on there, better at suppression than the mg7k but that’s just purely due to length. It was not better than a dedicated 556 can that is smaller and lighter. I have my mg7k on my ar10 and I love it.
SacraficeMyGoat@reddit
Thanks for the reply. 556 will be my main host, so I suppose it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a dedicated can for that anyway. The MG7K 224 a good suppressor with this current sale?
grimduck17@reddit
Yea that’s a good price
135patriots@reddit
Probably not great. Not really a Rex issue, just the reality of sticking a .308 suppressor on a much smaller caliber rifle.
I would pick the can you want and save up for another can you want down the road. Match suppressor to caliber or you're gonna end up with severely compromised performance
ChapelHillGuns@reddit (OP)
All these cans are in-stock and ready go to on a form 3.
If you want a Rex product that's not listed and are willing to wait a bit, send me a PM and I can generate a pre-order link for you.
Senzualdip@reddit
Assuming the 30% off only applies to in stock cans?
whetchup@reddit
I'd snag a seg12 in a heartbeat if they can somehow do one for 30% off
Senzualdip@reddit
That’s exactly what I was thinking!
ChapelHillGuns@reddit (OP)
Ask and you shall receive. Promo code should still work on this.

Thanks! Also sent you a dm with a question.
ChapelHillGuns@reddit (OP)
Here ya go. No guarantees on lead time...but it looks like these are in stock at the manufacturer, so shouldn't take more than a month.

How's the new Low Back pressure 224 compare to the Polo K? Obviously it's lower back pressure but how it run compare to the Polo K
And how does it hold up vs the CAT WB 718 From your exp
Also y'all use Silencershop kiosk? The saving is nice but everywhere around here charge $100-$150 for non silencershop NFA items 🥲
ChapelHillGuns@reddit (OP)
To be honest....I haven't shot any of the new Low Back pressure stuff. I've sold a couple and gotten positive feedback, but I can't really give a good comparison. Maybe somebody else can chime in with a better answer.
And No, I do not use silencershop.
Delicious-Kick-6690@reddit
Chapel Hill is my local gun shop and I can’t recommend them highly enough!

Thanks mystery customer :)
DovhPasty@reddit
Anyone here shot the 358 on a 556? I’m kinda looking for a shitty “do it all” suppressor since I can’t afford to diversify like I want to right now, i can’t imagine the performance is that great though
IntelGoons@reddit
I have the .358, it was my second can. It really fits into that "do it all" role really well. I've used it on a ton of different calibers, and I wouldn't consider it a bad can at all.
GassyGlock@reddit
I haven’t used my 358 on 556 yet, but literally got it as my “extra” loaner can (for when people come to the range with me and don’t own a can). Have used it alongside my YHM R9 and it sounds pretty much the same on 9mm.
I’ve read plenty of people used the 358 on SBR 556 rifles to some success. It is a hotdog down a hallway on a loud round so only some success hah.
K0nkeyD0ng@reddit
I enjoy it on my 10.5” 5.56, my standards are pretty low but it’s way more pleasant than unsuppressed
FlaggedRum@reddit
I use it, not bad works pretty well and helps alittle with back pressure, definitely not the quietest can though on 556 but sounds good on my 9mm and 300 subs
nathancombs1818@reddit
358 was one of my range friends first cans. He still uses it on 5.56 from time to time. Doesn’t sound bad at all.

corbinjc33@reddit
Any experiences with the .45 cal?
Piece_Negative@reddit
I bought it for 390 just now. There's pretty much no 45 cal can that can come close in price.
corbinjc33@reddit
What I’m thinking, just copped an Fnx 45T and have a 9mm vector I’d like to run it on
TC_19a@reddit
What comes with the Seg 9mm? The description leads me to believe it already has a booster assembly in it for 1/2x28
Does it use a wipe?
Would you recommend the .358 K can instead for 9mm use?
I would like to use it on handguns and if the Segmented one already has a booster… why wouldn’t I take that one?
this-iscrazyrn@reddit
The Seg H does come with a booster assembly which adds to the value. I have the Seg H and Mg7 in 358 and they are both great on PCCs and handguns
TC_19a@reddit
Man the booster assembly alone is enough to get me to take the Seg over the 7k. Even if the baffles get loose I can always run it on a short configuration 🤷🏼♂️
this-iscrazyrn@reddit
I have never had an issue with the baffles coming loose and I have run 9mm (subs/supers) and 300 blackout subs. I have probably put 3000 rounds through it since last year.
TC_19a@reddit
Well I was gonna buy a cheap gun but I think this is gonna win me over
this-iscrazyrn@reddit
You won’t regret it
135patriots@reddit
Has anyone tri-lugged the 358 for 9mm PCC use? 🧐
--_-__-___---_@reddit
are those the new 556 rex cans? havent seen any reviews for them
ChapelHillGuns@reddit (OP)
The "Ultra Low Back Pressure" cans are the new models. (Available in 556 and 308).
I haven't shot one personally, but I've sold a few and gotten good feedback when pairing them up with a gassy gun.
