There’s also the core issue of visibility. People still predominantly search the App Store for things. If your app isn’t there, you’re already starting from behind. Also, very few users actually know how to “install” a PWA and the vendors don’t make it obvious.
Yeah the problem is that device vendors don’t give a shit about this. Apple abandoned it at least spiritually when the App Store came out. Yes PWAs CAN do all that but convincing end users to adopt PWAs is basically pointless. Try explaining to a VC that you don’t think your new AI enabled woozle needs a native app and watch how quickly that checkbook disappears.
I do not find bookmarks on mobile browsers that easy to handle/navigate.
I much prefer a browser experience with no need for an app when everything works, I find myself taking bookings onto my home screen when they are daily used
