Hungarian Jesus

Sorry i’m doing this in English but i have to let you know somehow what happened to me today in your country.
I bought a “new” motorcycle two months ago and the plan was to take it for a ride today from Munich to Novi Sad in Serbia.
“New” is in quotation marks because it’s a 23 year old honda cruiser. Now, i don’t think anything is wrong with the fact that my bike is in college graduation years it’s that i just wasn’t really familiar with it enough to take it for a long trip.
To be more precise, i had no idea what my tank capacity is or the mileage i cad do on a single tank.
During the trip i was trying to test it, and see how much i can push it after the fuel light goes off.
I was around 90km away from Budapest and 4km from the nearest gas station when i failed the test and my bike started sputtering and eventually stalled.
I stopped on the hard shoulder and had no fucking idea what to do. Police lady told me i have to call towing service and that i can’t walk those 4 km to the gas station and back since it’s not safe.
As i was trying to figure out if i still have an ADAC membership, i saw a car pulling over and then backing up.
This guy in his little electric car pulled over and tried to figure out what’s wrong. He only spoke Hungarian but somehow he understood me.. To my shock he said “dodjem” in Serbian, even though my plates are German and i spoke to him in English. He gesticulated that he’ll go to the gas station to fill up his water bottle with gas and come back… I offered money right away and he refused.
This blond, long haired savior offered to help me, a total stranger, without asking anything in return.
Not so long after that he came back with his water bottle filled with gas. The bike started, we shook hands and we were on our way.
This story will probably not get to him but i just want to say i’m grateful from the bottom of my hearth.
tldr: Hungarian guy saved my ass on the highway when i ran out of fuel

I'm glad you are okay but I have to point out that the person who saved you couldn't have been Jesus, because your guy had blond hair, was also more than likely caucasian but Jesus was black.

That’s why i said Hungarian Jesus :D

You were lucky, a good Samaritan stopped to help you.
Last month I had a bike accident going 80+km/h in the rain while trying to enter a highway, I slipped and slided around 100 meters with my Honda in the inner shoulder stopped by the mud.
I recovered myself and the bike fast, but I was in a shock so I sat down on the railing.
About 100-150 cars passed me, no one stopped to check the ripped clothes beaten up rider stopped on the shoulder of a highway.
Just so you know if I passed you I would have even turned back to ask if you need help since I have tools with me to fix things and even bring fuel in a can.

It’s really sad to hear nobody had a moment to check on you after the crash.. I definitely think that’s not normal, and it makes me feel like i was extremely lucky yesterday.
As for the police, i never expect any help from them so i can’t be surprised in that regard…

Oh and about the police I've yet to meet a police officer that would actually offer some useful help in these kind of situations.
I used to deliver food with a 50cc scooter and I ran out about a kilometer before the nearest gas stop so I pushed it in the bike Lane it was scorching hot so I took off the helmet and put it in the box... The police showed up next to me and threatened to fine me because I don't have a helmet on and I'm pushing the bike like they wouldn't offer the take me or help me in any way but they threatened me amazing...

I can't even.
How did this go in your head, did you imagine that your bike was going to conveniently run out of gas right at the entrance of a gas station? Did you not think, before starting to experiment, that you should have at least a small can of spare fuel on you? Escpecially since you were going to "experiment"?
No offense OP, but solo traveling on an old motorcycle requires planning and preparation, even if you don't plan on leaving the asphalt.

I know it’s terrible, but i’m not big on planing or preparation or thinking apparently… :D

Probably the biggest motorcycle traveling channel is called Itchy Boots, look it up. Also, Revzilla and Fortnine make excellent videos about touring and travel gear.
Hopefully you'll learn from them and from this lucky incident. Godspeed and take care!

Wow! We had kinda similar thing happen to us about 8-9 years ago, although I never saw the person but I assume it was another Hungarian Jesus lol. We had a pretty serious accident where our car was totally wasted. Parents helped to tow the car through several towns at night. We were in the wasted car, which by then had a dead battery, so the hazard lights were out. It was quite dangerous tho, despite the triangle of warning in the rear window. In any case, a car suddenly appeared behind us and followed us down the road to make sure no-one hit us from behind. He could have overtaken us countless times, but he didn't, we towed the car along at a nice leisurely pace and he escorted us to the last intersection where we entered the destination town which had lights on.
We thank him (or her, who knows) so much. ❤️

I’d loved to see the gas stasion employees faces when an electric car stops there to fuel. Not an everyday image :)

I watched the video first and when i started reading the story i thought it's gonna be some weird some supernatural story where Jesus appeared to you on the field. lmao
Im glad he helped you tho 🤗

He appeared in Citroen electric car instead :D

That Citroen's gonna be a Holy Relic. Old women from all over Europe gonna travel by foot to his garage to kiss it
