Rig confirmation

Hi all,

I’ve been lurking and searching for a few weeks or months and I think I’ve a good idea of how to build my rig, but before I pull the trigger I figured I’d get confirmation.

Current most cost effective gpu is 3090, and I can get started with one. If I plan to go with 3+ of these I should go with a server board/cpu instead of retail.

CPU and system memory isn’t all that important if I’m relying on gpu work. However, if I will have the cpu do work, I need a lot of ram and memory lanes (I.e. server setup).

I’ve been reading mixed opinions on storage, so I’ll pose my situation and ask for clarity/opinions: There’s a local seller with several Intel ark p4600 2tb ssds for a decent price. They all have 97%+ life left in them according to the health check. Are these worth picking up for local llm use?

I’m going with 100% used parts to build on a budget, if that matters.
