I want to buy a CB.

I drive a Volvo vnl 760 and it has a plug and play set up. I was wondering is the stock antenna sufficient enough? Will it get enough range to communicate effectively. If not what antennas would you guys recommend?

There's adequate and there's good. As long as you have no other issues with the truck, the stock antenna should be adequate for typical usage with an average radio.
If you want to blow the speakers out on every truck in the truck stop, then get an antenna designed to handle the specifications of your radio and placement on your truck.

Once you get your head unit take it to a quality CB shop and have it peaked and tuned. I recommend Summit Radio by the TA in Commerce City Colorado. Chuck is great.

When you get it peaked and tuned would you need to have to buy a better antenna? Company has a stock one that’s already on the truck.

Not every CB is treated equally, just get a basic for now.

I want cb’s to make a comeback. Winter is coming and I always wish I had one when a storm hits.
