Used it for 2 years when i first dived into linux-only during covid with basically zero linux knowledge. Had to switch off when the whole thingy happened.
Still use it on my laptop, but moved to KDE Tumbleweed on all my main machines.
Would love to get unbanned from the /r/SolusProject subreddit at some point :D
I don't know if as a banned user you can use modmail, but if you can and you're serious about getting unbanned a good place to start would be to use it to apologize for your conduct. Sounds like you already recognize that it was uncalled for.
I'm struggling to understand what's happening and what are the advantages. I understand that they are trying to unify the file system just like other Unix/Linux OSs. They are adopting the Serpent OS tooling, so... Solus can become (almost? fully?) atomic.
Budgie stays on X11, so it's not an option for me at the moment, but I love it.
There was indeed. Was quite some controversy about how long a major update didn't come out around 2020 thru 2022. It's by no means stable or reliable in the sense of the project. Hopefully, the project will stear clear from this in the future and be a project that's reliable that makes reliable software aswell
Still around and best linux distro used. Fast, stable and rolling. Never seriously broken in last nearly 5 years installed on my PC. Said PC used for personal use, gaming and work. Truly amazing. Great work from the guys and girls there.
I've been running EndeavourOS the past year or so since there were issues with Solus. I've always kept an eye on it and am planning to move back to Solus. The rolling release was brilliant and safe. Since I've been on EndeavourOS I've had issues with LightDM being on an infinite loop and I have to rollback the version every time I upgrade.
Budgie is lovely, although I've moved to AwesomeWM now, but hey... Linux is amazing that I can roll with it still 🤩.
I'm so glad to see this still going, and very much looking forward to coming back with my tail between my legs!

I'm curious: How did you get banned from the sub?
KsiaN@reddit
By being exceptionally vocal about the nvidia driver in solus being way behind.
Someone from the solus dev team came in to help an i acted like an asshole. Pretty sure it was this thread.

r/Linux gave me a warning for commenting "nice." to a post of a new version of KDE release.

Careful with r/linux. People downvote you for no reasons and you get excluded. Careful with fanboys, haters, trolls...

Solus is still around?

Wasn’t there some drama around solus recently and talk of killing it and moving on to something new?
