Pc tweaking

Hey! Ever since I got my pc in around 2022 it has struggled to open low intensity games such as csgo, which can take up to 15 minutes to open itself- with even Google chrome taking abour 3 minutes to open a tab, however when I get to using it I can get perfect frame rates. Recently it’s gotten worse however shutting off every 5 minutes to the point where it’s unseeable. I know absolutely nothing about computers as my ex boyfriend built it for me in dec22 with my money, so, any help would be appreciated!
It’s notable to say that my disk is always preforming at “100%” on the task manager, and I’ve searched extensively for malware motherboard : MSI B550 pro cpu: AMD Ryzen 7 5700x gpu: Evga Geforce Rtx 2060 ram: Corsair Vengance 32GB storage: Seagate BarraCuda 4TB (slow end) power supply: Corsair TXM 850W

It's absolutely the hard drive. Once the system has been up and running a while, windows creates a DRAM cache so it doesn't need the HDD to do everything, that's why it died up. You need to add in an SSD, even a basic one and get windows on that instead. It will be like a whole new pc.

Thank you very much! Would it be worth just getting a whole new HDD instead? I don’t care for the material on my pc as it’s all re-downloadable

It's 2024, unless you have a specific need for huge storage capacity I think it's time to ditch "HDDs" entirely, and use solid state drives instead.

Alright thank you, would I just watch a tutorial on how to add one in and then download windows onto it?

Really thought someone else would leave a comment overnight.
You can either get an M2 SSD because your motherboard supports that (they plug directly in to the motherboard, no wires) or a standard sata-cable that plugs in the same way as your old HDD. They will both be much faster but the M2 slot would be best in terms of performance as your motherboard supports "PCIe" ssds.
Search on the official windows site for using a usb stick to install windows, there is a free, official tool to do this that downloads windows to the usb and formats it for you.
Then you need to install the new SSD which will either be one screw (M2 SSD) or two wires and probably 4 screws (SATA SSD).
Then restart the pc with the usb stick plugged directly in to the motherboard usb ports at the back and follow the prompts to install windows.

thank you very much, would I reset my pc before this ?or just follow that

I would copy any files you want to keep somewhere safe and then you can wipe your old drive when you are running the install for windows, it lets you format drives.

Oh thanks for your time I appreciate it. I can just 1. Download windows on usb 2. Turn off and remove HDD and add SSD. 3. Boot it back on

Yes, make sure the usb is plugged in though :)
If it doesn't work straight away, it will load in to the bios (uefi) where you will be able to tell it to boot from the USB.

Hope it fixes all your problems, a fresh install will feel good too.

Maybe a software issue? Im not sure, try reinstalling your windows and see if that helps.
