We lived in a time that had Rock bands. Somehow those are gone now.

You got a Spotify playlist or something you like? I have trouble knowing where to find new music (without, you know, leaving the house or making any effort) and it seems like you're on top of it.
HotTubSexVirgin22@reddit
A small collection of the bands I named.

Thank you!

Dm me, I got a playlist I can share with you too
HotTubSexVirgin22@reddit
Post it here? I’m interested!
HotTubSexVirgin22@reddit
I’d be happy to make one. Stay tuned.

On terrestrial radio, no. I'm finding countless new bands playing the music I like coming out every year. We are safe in the hands of the youngins that grew up listening to our music.
2099AD@reddit
I was at a local show that had FOUR bands on Saturday.
The thing is, the record companies are now focusing on young artists they can take advantage of, while using studio musicians. It's a lot cheaper to pay the salary for one 20something hottie than an entire band.

I just lamented the loss of guitar bands.
utopia_forever@reddit
All of those bands are guitar bands, you just didn't keep up, my friend. Follow some youtube channels. Why are you still spinning the same Killers record from 20 years ago?
djblackprince@reddit
Nothing But Thieves, Barns Courtney, The Blue Stones, The Glorious Sons, Bleeker, The Record Company, Maneskin, The Struts... I could go on.
nofateeric@reddit
The punk/hardcore/metal scene would like a word with you, sir.

Some people on here just don't know I want to be proven wrong.
nofateeric@reddit
I feel ya. What sub genre of rock do you like the best?
Unique-Accountant253@reddit (OP)
I don't have a favorite. I just want to see some rock band in the limelight.
Normal_poops@reddit
You’re just not looking hard enough. Plenty of great bands listed above. Also check out Grace Bowers and the Hodge Podge.
Unique-Accountant253@reddit (OP)
No. The point is that nowadays you have to look for em.
Unique-Accountant253@reddit (OP)
Funny how my fellow xennials are in denial.

Nah, the bands are there, you're just over 30 and the kids aren't letting you in on it.

There are definitely newer rock bands still. I think rock is going to have a big comeback soon. Last year all the old pop punk bands we liked in high school and college suddenly got popular with alot of the youth. My son personally really likes rock music, and a newer rock song was the most requested at his rock school last year.
I recently went to a concert and the opening band was a band called The Linda Lindas who are getting a ton of traction right now. This is a band made up entirely of high-school age girls (and really good too!).

When I saw Bad Religion last year, Speed of Light opened, they're young and put on a great show.
Unique-Accountant253@reddit (OP)
I surely hope so.
Moxie_Stardust@reddit
Alive and well in my local scene!

nah

I mean, the same ones are still hanging around... Måneskin was the last new "rock band" type group I've been exposed to. Of course as an Xennial, we're probably pretty far outside of the zeitgeist
