What do you think our future will actually look like?

no exaggeration, no exaggeration, what do you think? Will we create genetically superior children? will they be cyborgs? ...?
theonetrueteaboi@reddit
More of the same really.
ambadawn@reddit
I barely know you, so I'll be honest, I don't think we have much of a future together.
RoyalyMcBooty@reddit
As we are currently, but things will be smaller and more people will have home robots for fucking.
ahoneybadger3@reddit
I hope they end up bundling the BJ and handjob DLC's together else it's just getting ridiculous.
AfterBurner9911@reddit
I think they'll come included with the Battle Pass...
Anderax_@reddit
*Threesome Pass
PowerApp101@reddit
Gene and DNA modifications will allow rich people to live for hundreds of years, augmented with micro-robotic cyber tech. Greggs will create an insect sausage roll due to red meat shortages.
Plus_Competition3316@reddit
Considering the increase in every single disease and deformations in the past 50 years due to multiple factors, I’d say we’re getting to be a population of extremely unhealthy organisms.
Throw in the mix with the fact everywhere we look to is supplying us with an unhealthy intake (McDonald’s etc) we’re doomed.
Sure technology is advancing, but our bodies aren’t.
arfur-sixpence@reddit
Sadly, I think we're heading towards the kind of future portrayed in Idiocracy.
TheProblemWithUs@reddit
Technology will advance but not to our betterment, as normal people we’ll be even worse off 10/20 years down the line.
SlySquire@reddit
AI is going to change a vast amount in things in life. There will be robots. You will speak with them like they are humans. You will communicate with most tech like it's a human.
Many current jobs will disappear and be replaced with AI workers who you will speak with like they're real people. At the start you may not realise. After awhile you'll know and it will be normal. Think customer service who you phone or email. Think sales agents. Think middle management that currently controls field engineers etc. A lot of people wont have a direct human boss.
After that I don't know. Change is coming though.
PersonalityTough6148@reddit
If this actually happens you better hope we have Universal Basic Services or Universal Basic Income as a bare minimum. If all the jobs disappear how are working people going to afford to live? Don't think the Robot owners will be keen to share their wealth.
That's if climate change doesn't ramp up rapidly in the next decade to finish off 2/3 of all humans.
Happy days!
TheProblemWithUs@reddit
If you look at the state of the world even now, none of these things will exist still lol. People will just be poorer and worse off, that’s what they want us to be like. As long as the big bosses get more money with less expenditure then nothing is gonna change.
lesloid@reddit
If we don’t have to pay salaries to workers (because they are robots) then maybe everything will be cheaper to make and we won’t need much money?
explodinghat@reddit

spattzzz@reddit
Aliens are coming, we will find out in a few weeks, it’s gonna be interesting.
Realistic-Job-2444@reddit
Did they contact you and tell you this ? 😃
spattzzz@reddit
Not personally, SETI have found them , James Webb and the Chinese fast have observed (apparently).
TheProblemWithUs@reddit
The most James Webb can do in terms of identifying any civilisations is through analysing exoplanet atmospheres, which takes time. Even if they did find something, aliens wouldn’t ’be coming’ as that distances James Webb observes means any observations would’ve actually occurred at least thousands of years ago. Don’t fall for this stuff, unsourced articles and ‘experts’ do this because it gets them clicks and in turn gets them money.
lonehorizons@reddit
No offence but my guess is in a few weeks there’ll be a big shiny brand new conspiracy about some big thing that’s just round the corner and all the conspiracy influencers online will be talking about that.
griffaliff@reddit
Very true, big things coming soon...

Silver Spandex and Dumb and Dumber haircuts.
MelodicAd2213@reddit
Hooray!!
Shitelark@reddit
I am already disappointed. The Silver jumpsuits are 25 years overdue.
Meet-me-behind-bins@reddit
Unless something happened to the time line? Perhaps you and me are the only two people not wearing Silver Jumpsuits? Everyone else has been enjoying 25 years of prancing about in Silver Spandex and me and you have just been going to work all this time like fucking losers??
Shitelark@reddit
Nah, I would have noticed:

maybe ebay will be kind to me one day.
OtherManner7569@reddit
Hopefully Star Trek, but most likely something like cyberpunk.
FloorAdditional3871@reddit
Star Trek? A rigidly hierarchical, militarised society?
OtherManner7569@reddit
Post money society where poverty, disease and war on earth has been eliminated and humanity is the leader of an interstellar federation. Sounds like a great future to me. Hardly a military society most of the shows are about scientists.
insertitherenow@reddit
I don’t care. I will be dead.

How far are we going? 5 years? 100? 1000?

Hi sorry. Not sure if you realised but it's EE now. Not orange.
Reasonable-Cat5767@reddit
I don't wish to live in an EE world. I want the old one back thanks.

Climate migration will be a MASSIVE issue that isn't really being talked about enough. It's not just about housing in coastal areas becoming uninsurable over time (as is already starting to happen in parts of America) and those areas seeing divestment, areas of hugely populous countries like India are not far off becoming inhospitable with only a couple degrees average change making livestock and crop farming unfeasible.
If you think the housing market and pressure on local services is bad now, wait until less affected countries like ours take on a share of tens of millions of climate refugees.
madame_ray_@reddit
Wet, warm, mouldy and with bigger mosquitos.
emjayeff-ranklin@reddit
There will be lots of smoke, lots of ash, lots of rubble.
mustafizn73@reddit
Future advancements will likely include AI integration and genetic health improvements, focusing on practical benefits rather than drastic changes.
90s_nihilist@reddit
The way it's going, there won't be any children

With the pace of change in the UK, probably very similar to now, but with more austerity and more promises of new infrastructure projects that never materialise

Familiar_Benefit_776@reddit
I like the Red Dwarf view of the future, where all our advanced technology does nothing more than give us new and inventive ways of cocking things up because we are still just people.
ND_Cooke@reddit
No idea. You never know what can happen this week so you might as well take things day by day. I used to worry about my future when I was younger but I'm definitely a day to day person now with a short and long term goal in mind to build to. It's more peaceful, for me anyway.
lalalaladididi@reddit
Given the mess is humans are making of the world then it's reasonable to conclude that things can only continue to get worse
GuybrushFunkwood@reddit
Not much will change but I think we’ll live underwater. And your great great great granddaughter .. Will be pretty fine.
