Whats a good brand for a respirator/gas mask?
I'm considering one for a bug out tote or to keep in my truck for SHTF.

The Mira CM-6M. Get the correct filters for your situation.

I second that! ☝️

Copy and pasting this because I don't want to have to type it out again.
As some topical words of advice, most respirators are not meant for use in IDLH atmospheres. IDLH means Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health. It means if your mask fails, or you take it off, the atmosphere will prevent you from escaping, kill you, or severely injure you. Since that's usually what people are thinking of when they say they're looking for a gas mask or respirator... you need to be careful about what you're buying. Don't buy a "respirator" when you really want a "gas mask".
There's also more to appropriate use of gas masks and respirators than just buying them and putting them on when the time comes. You need to understand that respirators do not universally stop all contaminants at all concentrations. Most do nothing for you in fires where carbon monoxide is present, nor do they do anything in oxygen-deficient atmospheres. If the concentration of a contaminant is too high, it may also "break through" the filter. So it's generally not a good idea to leave a "safe" location for, or to travel through, an unknown one. And finally, don't think evacuation orders don't apply to you or give you more time because you have PPE.
Check into Avon's masks. https://www.avon-protection.com/ If you're serious, do it right or don't do it at all.

Which filters would you believe capture "most". I have my scott SCBA mask from a previous job. Has the bayonet and 40mm adapters. I keep OV +p100, ABEK-p, and CBRN.

CBRN

Thanks for the info! Doing it right was my thought cause I was initially browsing amazon and didn't think anything there would be much use after looking through the list.

Yeah this guy nails it. The only effective respirator in a SHTF moment would be an SCBA or PAPR? Both very expensive and not easy to tote around. Feel free to correct me!
Just buy a gas mask lol

SCBA. IDLH atmospheres will render filters useless.
GlacticGryffindor@reddit
Ah yes forgot about the giant hip filter that comes with the PAPRs lol. Only have seen them once.

C420 baby. Get one with the charger and two batteries. They're great.

A lot of people will recommend a Mira, or Avon.
For true SHTF? I'd recommend the Scott AV-3000HT. You're gonna have to get the CBRN 40mm adapter (part #200423-02) but the beauty of this mask is that it will fit the vast majority of firefighter SCBAs.
