Are there any tabloids/magazines that just publish dumb stories about celebrities but aren't entirely idiot or offensive?

I feel like all the tabloids that I grew up seeing in the check out aisle made up really idiotic stories or where extremely misogynistic. Or they did the whole paparazzi thing and invaded the privacy of celebrities to an extreme degree.
This may be a dumb question but are there any tabloids/publications that just publish dumb stories and have some whiff of not being completely garbage to the people they cover. For example, there was recently an article about Lana del Reys marriage to that alligator guy in life and style. It was basically just an excuse to make terrible alligator - related jokes and was otherwise not completely offensive.

Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone.

Didn't think about RS but came here to post VF. My wife eats that up. It's basically Cosmo or Glamour for grown-up women with money. Some fashion, some human-interest, sometimes some news. Well-written (seriously, if there's an article in Vanity Fair about a topic you are interested in, it's worth reading). Her kind of mindless entertainment.

Not really. I would love a magazine where they talk to famous people about their work and what goes into it, but good luck finding it all in one place. *Musician* magazine used to have top-drawer interviews with musical artists, (sometimes sending one notable musician to interview another) but that was a while ago. Same with actors and acting, authors and writing... I really don't care who anyone is dating, for example.

They've all been websites for the last 10-15 years. Buzzfeed and Barstool mostly.
People hate on TMZ but they actually do a good job at verifying stories before posting them. The main culprit was Gawker which shutdown due to lawsuits.

People? Entertainment Weekly?

Not really, no.
People who read gossip rags want gossip.

Most comments have mentioned People, but it feels like half their stories published focus on non-famous people (such as articles about missing people or murder cases).

So you want to buy magazines with vapid articles about celebrities? Try the supermarket checkout line. People, Star, Globe, Glamour, US Weekly.

My mom used to car for an older lady who was OBSESSED with celebrity stories. All of the mags you mentioned were by her chair every week. When she read them, mom read them. I never understood why people care so much.

You’re describing People and Us Weekly.
They’re just as vapid as the other celeb tabloids, but more vanilla and less stalkery

From what I remember about People, it's mostly fluff pieces heavily redacted through a publicist. So, maybe idiotic, but not really offensive.

All of them...

I haven't seen one in a while but maybe People magazine? I feel like it had a reputation of being celebrity news without being overly sleezy or sensational.
