anyone have any tips on how to get a reservation at this place? I know they release the reservations everyday at 12pm but it seems like they sell out in seconds?? lol are people using bots or something?

I've been trying too but no luck

I’ve been three times in the last few months alone — the product of setting reminders and coordinating efforts with my wife. The new system is a daily opening for the same date next month.
The answer, I’m afraid, is just leaving a browser on the reservation screen and hitting ‘refresh’ until you land something. Good luck.

So how good is it really? Is it worth all this trouble??

It’s worth it! I live in Dallas and got a reservation last year and I still think about that meal. 💯 worth the 1 hr + drive to/from on Friday with traffic.

For my wife and I, it is, but we also live in Carrollton. It’s 34 mins to Via Trozzi and 32 mins to Osteria — having recently done the two establishments on successive Fridays, I see no scenario where I’d make the drive to the former if I didn’t have to.
My wife and I have dined everywhere from gas station taco joints to James Beard winners/nominees in the U.S., to Michelin guide spots (starred and bib gourmand alike) abroad. Her exact words were that the first dish she had at Osteria was the best pasta she’d ever had.
Your mileage may vary, but the restaurant is getting attention (and a growing list of die-hard) for good reason, IMO.

We talked to the maitre d I guess you would call it, my wife and I have been about 4 times and we live in Cedar Hill, he always says to try and call on the afternoons you may want to come in, a spot may actually open up and it happens all the time.

I’ve seen reservations come up same day, if you check around noon! I wasn’t able to go that evening, though. 😂 They have outdoor patio seating and indoor, when I saw the available rez. I think you just have to keep trying. 😂🤣🤷♂️

I’ve been twice and yea it’s a challenge. The place is fairly small and in like an old house in Denton. When I went they only had reservations opened every other month or so and you were booking months in advance.
The only advice I can give is to have a variety of dates and times in mind and start refreshing the page in multiple browsers minutes before release time. They fill up so fast you have to be willing to pivot and select just about anything you can put your clicker on. Do it on desktop so you can react faster. If you plan on going with other people, have a game plan on what dates they’ll try to reserve first so you can divide and conquer. Go for less popular dates like during the week vs the weekend.

I was just talking to someone about this at lunch! Neither of us had ever been able to get a table. We wondered if it was bots too...but apparently the restaurant is very very small.

I feel like it has to be! for the past week I have refreshed the page at 12pm on the dot and within seconds they are gone. I just don’t see how it’s possible for them all to be gone that quickly

It’s not a large restaurant, and even with time limitations on reservations (90 mins for two diners, 2 hours for four) , there simply aren’t a ton of slots every day.
TastyImportance4072@reddit
they only have I think 8 tables

The link to the page to select the reservation is generally blocked when nothing is open. If you can find a way onto it, even when slots have been taken, keep your browser on the page so you can quickly refresh and select a slot the next day. Everyone else has to click the first link which slows them down.

They release reservations every other month on first Monday at noon, so you are essentially booking a month in advance. It’s not every day. Unsure what cycle they are on (instagram and signing up for their emails is the best way to get notified prior to the reservations being released).

They changed it to every day at the beginning of September.
