All around.
Car is Lexus ES sedan (gray) - my preference is the stock look. So what are the cons of clear tint ?

I put the ceramic "tint" on every window in my cars. I also live in a part of the country where it gets really hot.
The sides are darkened to the legal limits but the front is not colored at all.
The biggest downside is that you *can* get some streaks or a tiny blur through it. I've driven cars with and without this tint, and a dirty window is far worse than the 'tinted' one. Properly done, you won't see anything, but you will certainly feel the benefit as you drive. You won't need full AC for very long on hot days and the car just feels better. Note that the car can still get hot on this inside, just not so hot that you fry your fingers touching the seat belt or any metal surface.

so not the clear type ?
So the clear type lets reduces heat less than darker shade?

The material it's made of is what determines heat reduction, not how dark it is.
The tint added to the base makes it dark or not.
If you mix base materials, it's possible to have a clear ceramic with better heat rejection than a dark non-ceramic tint.
In my case, I used the same base all around. The darkness of what's on each glass is not relevant to the heat rejection.

excellent explanation thanks

If all you’re looking for is uv protection but you don’t want a dark window it’s worth it.

it blocks/reduces heat also ?

if its ceramic

Not familiar with that brand but yeah. You can get clear tint that has just as good heat rejection and UV protection as darker tint. Some people want the benefits without darkening the window for various reasons.
