Imagine if they did this with emergency services or the military. I mean hey, a bunch of preventable deaths will happen but who cares as long as we're inclusive.
While I was in the navy, we had an officer get upset that she didn't win the "Officer of the Year" or "Female Officer of the Year," award, and she came to the conclusion that it was because she was black. She casually brought that up to several different people, and a couple weeks later she was awarded as the first "Black Officer of the Year" award winner.
Authored by “Tyler Durden” from Fight Club? Local reporting tells a different story. This is what happens when you get your “news” from rage-bait memes. Sheeple gonna sheep 🐑.
“the state has received about a dozen complaints against Oregon Department of Forestry leaders this year, with some employees alleging a hostile culture toward women, a lack of diversity and a fear of retaliation.” 🤷🏼♂️
But my point is that I'm talking about this as a whole, not just one specific "meme" article.. And plus the article you linked isn't even too far off lol. The lord of diversity hiring gets mad that she's not in leadership meetings... give me a break
That headline is accurate, your own source is totally consistent. You're the one misrepresenting something along political lines. "Think critically" lol
That's not the main issue, you're placing it ahead of the reasons both articles clearly state in favor of your own spin. I really don't care but your attempt to tar and feather the article for being memes is laughable
Just read it and it sorta tells the same story....
but DAS included other emails that show a series of emails from a former female Department of Forestry diversity, equity and inclusion official expressing frustration that Shaw had excluded her from what the agency calls “leadership team” meetings.
He excluded DEI from meetings etc including about hiring, and she complained.
The headline definitely isn't exactly unbiased, but reading the local article the main issue seems to be that he was hostile to DEI, which given what that means nowadays is a good thing.
Agreed. But why does our other option have to be the extreme end of the spectrum? It’s sad.
If you don’t like letter A, the only other viable option is option Z…? WTF?
I mean it was before Biden, but that was his ENTIRE appointment strategy. "hire the first" into whatever slot.
Hiring a native American as head of department of the interior, sounds good, but ... Now I have zero information on her but... Being native American isn't a "qualification" for the job.
Zero Hedge is for Republicans who are too embarrassed to call themselves that so they cling to calling themselves Libertarian the same way a 13 year old girl wearing all black calls herself an emo.
I’m not familiar with Zero Hedge. Thank you for sharing that it’s a pseudonym. I was thinking Zero Hedge might be something like The Onion or Babylon Bee. I’ll have to take a look at Zero Hedge.
Effective at fighting does not mean effective at defending. Privateering is a fun example of this---and how often it lead to piracy. Machiavelli drew his ideas on auxiliaries from how Italy was being constantly invaded and controlled from outside. Consider for a moment how the Romans turned more and more to auxiliaries. The foundation of the draft is in militia. The militia is a common defense.
If you refuse the draft then you refuse the contract of citizenship. You want a social contract? It is right there written in blood. People can dodge the draft---but they have to leave the country.
Again if the war is just or the country/homeland that you love is in peril, then people will fight. If the government has to resort to force to make you fight then the war is obviously unjust or the government is corrupt.
I was told by a DEI rep at a Fortune 500 company that I (a new hire) needed DEI training because Christians (she read that my hobby was singing gospel music) tend to have trouble working with gay and trans people. When I pointed out the irony of the inherent failing logic of that statement, I was HR slighted and forced to leave.
I always wonder, who is actually allowing it, and why? I think it’s because the true working class (logistics, energy, ag, etc) has been largely destroyed or outsourced, leaving only these legions of barely-working class dregs who exist solely to indulge in extreme hedonism and narcissism. Modern leftist types only care about validating their personal whims and desires and have absolutely no regard for long term social or economic consequences, probably because they take no ownership of, nor are they responsible for, anything that happens.
So as a “former” anything, what does it know about the hiring practices they chose? Is the hiring process public record or does the person doing the hiring have to explain their choice? IMO you get a good mix of candidates that check the HR boxes and then you make a decision.
Nice to the this sub is still unserious and talking about a random place in Oregon and how they’re woke. Definitely a real issue in America that affects me
Look, I’m okay with helping kids get over the hurdles of their environment and upbringing. That makes sense to me. After school is where I’m like ‘ehhhh….’
In the early 20th century the official job title of "DEI Strategy Officer" would of been "Commissar".
A commissar is a bureaucrat that was in charge of educating the people in regards to current political ideology. They would also report on people not carrying the party line as well as setting official policy for organizations.
It is commonly associated with the Soviet's "People's commissars", but it as a feature of Nazism and other authoritarian regimes.
It is one of those words people don't like to use anymore due to negative connotations. Like how "Ministry of Propaganda" is now referred to as "Public Relations Department". It is the same thing, but much more neutral sounding.
I just took a survey at work today that included DEI questions like, "This Company's hiring practices are diverse [blah blah blah]". There is an optional comment box where I was able to clarify that I don't care. Just hire someone who can do the job. The last guy I worked with couldn't, and it set us back as I had to go back and fix his stuff. Not that he was DEI, he was just incompetent. Worked with him for years and it just never changed.
”Rather than responding to the substance of the DEI official’s concerns, acting ODF HR director Wendy Heckman chastised the woman for the tone of her email. “I’m dismayed by the disrespect and unprofessionalism conveyed in your response,” Heckman wrote.”
Comments here in a tizzy over the Oregon Department of Forestry HR policing tone. This is one of those stories twisted a certain way to drive engagement and elicit anger, and it seems to be working. The purple hair and smirk front and center, the slanted headline.
No mention here or in the picture of the woman not being invited to meetings (agree or disagree with her job, whatever. Is it not her job to be in those meetings). No mention of the “dozen complaints against ODF leaders this year… alleging a hostile culture toward women, a lack of diversity and a fear of retaliation.” Don’t let yourselves be manipulated
