Put robots ressembling dead people above people's graves in cemeteries.

The robots look like the occupants of the grave below them. Their memory contains information about the deceased. They are programmed to politely respond to questions about the grave occupants; if the dead person six under was really rude, however, they will be pretty rude as well. When they aren't responding to questions, they chat with the other robots or do whatever activities their model liked to do and can do without moving too much. If there are two people in a grave, they will be too robots above it. Each person in the grave corresponds to one robot above it. They function on geothermal energy.

No.
This feels like a repurposing of Elon robots, and I won't support what profits him.
This all leads to a Terminator timeline I want no part of, and you shouldn't either.

The robots are especially made to do this and created by funerals homes.

Make them solar powered robots so when it’s dark, the low voltage will cause the voices to sound like their 0.25 speed of normal speech. Helps to authenticate the relatives that died from alcoholism too

Imagine late night just hundreds of robots talking to each other in the dark.

Holograms might be better than robots. Also they can double up as 'ghosts'
PlaidBastard@reddit
And you can fight them to make them teach you their secrets! Right?

"Remember meeeee!"

flames shoot out of their mouths

I read this as “reassembling” dead people, which seems like a whole different nightmare
gsquaredbotics@reddit
I did too! I spent a good moment going "why?"

Not visiting the robot isn't going to make things any easier.

I married a widow. I was a widower when we met. While we both miss our previous spouses, I am not sure all four of us would fit on one bed.

Have robots reassembling dead people above their graves.

Thats what I read.

I only scrolled up to look after this comment. I was so confused.

For an extra fee you can have the robots do a synchronized dance to a song from the 80's.

Thriller of course

Great. Chuck E. Cheese nightmares.

Can I have sex with the robots

I thought it would be better than having sex with the corpses

True...

All OK except energy. But no geothermal energy for my robots.

Turns out cemeteries aren't actually haunted, so we'll make them haunted

Why are you back so soon?
Moon's not haunted
What?
Taps jar of souls Moon's not haunted

This is a good idea. In fact, I've seen data scientists propose something similar. But if you develop the technology to be able to talk to your dead relative, why only allow people to use it at the grave site? After all, it will be basically a chatbot that sounds like the dead person. You could create a computer animation that looks like the dead person, and it would be far cheaper and easier than building a robot. Plus, an animation wouldn't ever run out of batteries (which is going to be a problem because it's expensive to get enough geothermal energy).
All you'd need is the writings and videos of the deceased. This would allow an LLM to be able to talk in their style, and generate content with their knowledge and opinions in mind. As a result, a dead person could be around to chat to their descendants, funded only by occasionally pausing to tell them about the end of financial year sale on Casper mattresses.
Imagine if we could have been raised by our ancestors, not just our parents! We would have centuries of accumulated wisdom to guide us! And the first thing we'd do is conclude "It's all gone downhill since we stopped burning witches!", and then off we'd go to invade France for the glory of the king.

Grave sites have a pretty poetic tone to them. I am literally French, so restricting the robots to graveyards would be in my best interest. The streets of Paris, however, would be filled by robots of the dead people in the catacombs, which wouldn't be too terrible since Paris is already pretty noisy.

I love how you tack on a sentence about geothermal energy like it’s self explanatory at that point. Wouldn’t solar be an easier choice in many places?
FoundationSafe1255@reddit (OP)
Geothermal energy sounded more poetic since it came below the robots just like the cadavers.
