Visual cues when to turn while reversing if no bumpers?

When I'm reversing I usually start to actually turn when I clear the bumpers of the cars on either side of me. When there aren't any cars on either side of me I struggle when to figure out when it is ok to start turning in reverse. What visual cues can I look for when there are no bumpers that will notify me it is fine to start turning in reverse?

You can start turning early, its not going to harm anything.

Yeah this makes sense. If I do not have any visual cues then just turn early as there shouldn't be any issue. Thanks you for the advice.
