What music player do you use for last.fm scrobbling?

I really like Elisa (especially as a KDE user), but it lacks last.fm scrobbling.
Tried using Lollypop. It does exactly what's needed, but I personally find it less user-friendly (e.g. the 'queue' is more of playing albums than playing songs, I can't see a list of all songs in my library, and there's no way to view only the playing song without going full screen).
Not really complaining since open source doesn't always have every feature you'd want, but it's quite hard looking for the right software so decided to ask here.

I used to use clementine, but got tired of recompiling every time a library would get updated. Now I just use strawberry music player. It kinda looks bad, but I don't care as it is functional design and I am normally listening to music well doing work.
It also looks pretty good if you use it under KDE (I personally use XFCE), as it reacts to your KDE theming.
Not sure how it is for playlists, as I just listen to full albums.

VLC on Linux.
Musicolet on Android.

does VLC have last.fm scrobbling?
hictio@reddit
Yes. Natively without the need for any addon.

Had no idea that last.fm was still around.

Didn't it use to be some music player in the past? Not sure about today, but it does scrobble music which is good when you no longer use Spotify.

Started using fooyin recently. Loving it. Closest experience to Musicbee I can get.

You can just use rescrobbled with Elisa for Last.fm/Listenbrainz scrobbling and it works pretty well from my experience. Just no offline scrobbling if you find yourself needing that.

I stream music from my Jellyfin server with the Jellyfin last.fm plugin and it works fine for devices that don't have native last.fm apps like my Roku TV.
jeanravenclaw@reddit (OP)
oooh, Jellyfin sounds interesting
does it allow offline playback / mass downloading?
shake-sugaree@reddit
yes, but keep in mind it's a media server not a media player. you run the server, point it to the directory where your music is and then connect to the server using the client to play your media. the server and client can run on the same machine without any network connection at all, but if you want to connect to the server from clients on multiple devices then you obviously at least need a LAN connection.
from the server to your local device via the client? Not sure, the answer might be different depending on what platform the client is running on.
to the server from the Internet? yes, using Lidarr

ooh, definitely gonna look at this if and when I manage to get a decent server running
adamkex@reddit
It's also a media player. It comes with a web ui.
shake-sugaree@reddit
what I mean is that it's not the same as a media player like Rhythmbox where you just open the software and play music. you need the server + something to connect to it with. if you use the web UI then the browser is your client.
adamkex@reddit
Well you could run it locally. It essentially becomes the same as something like Rythmbox
