2 Piece Windshields

Not a trucker, just curious how much of a blind spot these 2 piece windshields introduce compared to a full sized window.

The only windshield needed!
(I've often wondered about the cost of a one piece)

windshields crack often when OTR.
replacing one of the two windshields is 60 bucks in parts. and can be done by any 2 people.
replacing a one piece is not that easy and costs a lot more per windshield.

I've replaced both sides of my windshield years ago on a ole 78 W900. One man job.

well 2 man by todays standards

I don't notice much unless it's raining or snowing.
Wet gloopy snow building up around the wipers can block a lot.

I was always told that blind spot was nothing compared to the aerodynamic mirrors that truckers have to deal with today. That shroud causes a huge blind spot as well as the giant a pillars on tractors now. When they combine the two there is a tremendous amount of stuff CMV operators simply cannot see. It's amazing truck drivers don't crash way more than they do.

Small enough that you won't notice it unless you specifically look for it.

Very small.
