What’s the coolest patch you’ve ever seen?! Here’s my cubicle corner at work made mostly from past work experience with some morale patches sprinkled in

I got this Sidewinder patch from my grandfather, who was an engineer on the team in China Lake.

I always liked the old-school SAC emblem with the fist holding lightning bolts.

Can you please share where you got the B2 Spirit?
gwillly@reddit (OP)
The model was won on eBay! Look up Executive B-2 Model on google and make sure its made of resin and a larger scale
Professional_Card892@reddit
nice! as soon as I saw the Indiana patch I had to look for Grissom and was not disappointed.
gwillly@reddit (OP)
Yessir! Still trying to convince them to let me take that F-14 they have on display for a joy ride
TrevBot12345@reddit
How did you mount the model so it doesn’t fall off?
gwillly@reddit (OP)
It’s got two black thumbtacks under the wing bend in the back that it’s resting on! You can see it if you zoom in!
TrevBot12345@reddit
I have an exact model of that and couldn’t figure how to mount it. It seems to heavy for a couple tacks but I guess I’ll have to give it a tray now that I see it.
RhinoIA@reddit
I'm sure your conversations go something like this:
*So, what do you work on?*
*Stuff....*

Awesome Skunkworks patch. My favorite coin in my desk collection is my Skunkworks one. My default reply to any question from coworkers is “what coin?” or “interesting stuff”.
gwillly@reddit (OP)
Hahah exactly. Who said anything about that?
BobFlairDrip@reddit
With all the B2 stuff, I’m surprised you don’t have a 131st or 509th patch!
gwillly@reddit (OP)
Very cool! I’ve got a 509/131 combo coming here

I have two patches that I’d love to share. The first is from a B-52 squadron down in Louisiana that has their “peace the old fashion way” (a really big bomb), it’s also got a pip boy on it too which is supper cool.
The second one is one I got from an F15 Sqn, but from what I remember them telling me, this was an old patch worn by their fighters when they flew the during WWII in, I believe, the P47 (please correct me if that’s not the correct aircraft). It’s literally a belt fed cow with machine guns for utters, what could be cooler than that?
VypreX_@reddit
Ha! The Pip-boy is awesome!

My favorite patches are from Skylab. They were launched when I was a kid so I was totally into them.

Thank you! It was on eBay, but Its one of the executive models that are made of resign! Can’t remember the company- I wanted a 1:72 scale but it was probably 3x the cost of a 1:144 hahah
sparklyjesus@reddit
Could you please provide a link? I really want to get one for my buddy!
gwillly@reddit (OP)
I don’t really have one, but look up B-2 Executive Model and make sure it’s made of resin. This one is bigger than mine, but very similar
sparklyjesus@reddit
Awesome, thank you!

I have a VT-51 patch signed by a tail gunner from the squadron, and his pilot, Ensign George H.W. Bush.

Sweet patches, I have a lot of the same patches myself. Particularly the X/F-35 and JSF patches.
gwillly@reddit (OP)
Nice! Such a good looking plane. I still think from a cosmetics standpoint, F-22 can’t be beat
FuNkYMoNk585@reddit
Agreed. Though when you hear the 35 coming you know you’re in trouble.

You're in trouble long before you hear it

Very nice. You have well exceeded the suggested amount of flair.
You have an amazing work history.

I have a couple of shuttle mission patches from when my Dad worked for Army Space Command. And his AH-1 Cobra qualification patch.
I've got a Task Force Odin patch from when I worked with them.

SDA T1 hasn't even launched yet, let alone T2. How do you even have patches for those.
Internal_Mail_5709@reddit
I think he purchased the majority of these patches, which is OK but otherwise he was in a refueling squadron, PWSA, B1 Lancer, Skunk Works, JSF program. They are kind of all over the place in regards to a career track.
Godit82@reddit
I'm digging your squadron patches. Well, of the 2 on display, one is way cooler than the other. About nine times cooler!

Coolest patch I’ve ever seen? For sure it’s the Metallica Master Of Puppets patch that covered the back of my denim jacket in 1988.

I would have to say the SR-71 3+ since not many pilots got to wear it.
Dachongies@reddit
I have a 44th Fighter Squadron patch on a jacket that I got way back in the late 90’s. I think it is pretty cool.

I've liked the old patch of the 32nd Tactical Fighter Squadron from when they were stationed in the Netherlands. Not because the patch itself is particularly cool, but rather because it has the crown and wreath with oranges of the Dutch Royal House, to date the only time a United States military unit has been allowed to carry royal insignia.
gwillly@reddit (OP)
Wow that’s a great fact. Never knew that!
CleverNamesGone@reddit
I wish I had a picture of it, but my sons maternal grandfather was an engineer who helped design the engines for the mercury, Gemini, and Apollo missions and has the mission patches for them.
gwillly@reddit (OP)
Wow!!! I hope they got handed down/kept! The thought of that history being discarded makes me sad!
