Bulgaria is not an issue either. The French proposal has been signed over 2 years ago, but the Macedonian politicians have been stalling its implementation and the start of their EU negotiations. So if someone is to blame for the decoupling of North Macedonia and Albania, it's not Bulgaria or Greece.

To answer directly, no, it shouldn’t matter. History has nothing to do with it.
But honestly, I’m tired of the ongoing debate about Alexander the Great and his ethnicity. The man was Greek. Deal with it. A Macedonian Greek, to be precise. He was the son of Philip II, who was part of the Argead dynasty, originating from Argos.
It doesn’t matter if his mother had an affair with a stable boy. He was recognized by Philip as his son and heir. From the beginning of time, society has viewed male children as the primary means of continuing the family bloodline, thus inheriting everything from their fathers. For heaven’s sake, Henry VIII dismantled an entire nation's religious system and severed ties with the papacy, all under the pretense that he didn’t have a male heir after two marriages
Since his father was a Macedonian Greek, Alexander was a Macedonian Greek. It’s been proven. Let’s move on.

Argos, is probably the “Kernel” of Greek culture and language. The first written proof of the Greek language was discovered in its general area (Linear B) and early Greek cultural ties from there are too strong to debate them

I'll just add my '2 cents' here. I'm happy Albania can progress towards EU. Sad that my country has been ruined by our spineless and corrupt politicians for 3 decades now... There's so many things that are on the verge of collapse or barely functional here, because anyone capable of actually contributing to our country is leaving.
I'll also add that any Macedonian with a functional brain should aspire for our country to join the EU. Its economical and social security is vital to the survival of our country. Yes, more people will flee to other EU countries if and when we join the union, but once things start improving here, again, economically and socially speaking, many will probably return and perhaps others from other EU countries might settle here.
To claim that we don't need the EU is just plain stupid. Now, if only we could get some political party whose sole interest will be the well being of our people, and not just filling their pockets and employing dumb as fuck family members into the administration, shit would maybe start looking like a functional society.
Is the EU a perfect paradise and will it solve all our problems over night? Fuck no. But it would put us on a path of prosperity such as we haven't seen yet. Free worker movement, investments, infrastructure, healthcare, social policies, everything would start improving...
I hope to one day become a EU citizen without having to leave my country. I'd be damn proud.

Also our position next to the Bosporus gives as the geographically tactical location of being able to "threaten" Russian Naval Forces in the Black Sea, same case with Bulgaria which has it for a coast. Obviously not as good as controlling the Bosporus itself like Turkey, but it's another card in the hand of the EU and NATO if a war with Russia ends up happening.

(Honestly with the state of the war rn I wouldn't be surprised honestly), but I clearly referred to the EU and NATO, we obviously wouldn't be left alone to lock the Russian Navy inside the Bosporus. We already have a US military base in Crete from what I know, and maybe more. The EU and NATO would send additional reinforcements to ensure to Russian boat would leave the Black Sea.
Plus you clown we both are in NATO, so accept the fact we're in it because the US wants the Ruskies locked in the black Sea if NATO and Russia go to war. Alternatively go to your usual activities of living in Berlin.

I'm very much against the EU (and NATO), but it's no business of any country whether another country will enter or leave the EU.

I understand that he has the Albanian minority in North Macedonia in mind and an admittance into EU would benefit all parties involved. Since it's not his history and cultural heritage, of course he doesn't want that to be an obstacle but guess what... it concerns the rest of the countries involved (Greece, Bulgaria, North Macedonia) and Albania has no say in the matter. Just stay observant and be glad the admission was separated between the two.
