C15, 3406 any variation. That wasn't a hard task.

Really 🙄 I assume your American you will never find a Australian who hates them

Yes, I'm an American. As the parent country to Cat, Cummins, Detroit and the original Mack engines, we've heard them all. Macks now are just repainted Volvo engines. A Cat with 7-8 inch straight pipes is the crem de la crem with the big block Cummins following. Detroits are too tinny sounding and no one cares about Mack or Volvo.

No one cares about Mack what you Americans don’t care about the Mack superliner the r modle the vaule liner the fh16 or the f12 what American truck driving sounds boring as

Doesn’t have the pop of a Mack

Caterpillar C15 with straight pipes is a thing of beauty. Personally it sounded best under load or jaking
DD60 idle was The Sweet Spot on this corner.
There could be an argument to some of the two stroke diesels had the best sound.

There is nothing like an E9 at full torque. That delicious off beat thump makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck. I will say tho that the crackle of an old 866 series 375 Mack is a very close second. There is a guy local to me runs a pair of new Scania V8s with straight pipes that sound so much like a E9 . They run off highway. DPFs removed . Those things at around 90 tonnes ( 200,000 lb for you Americans) sound pretty sweet. I'm surprised that Scania haven't made a push into the land of V8s
