Booked train ticket regiojet from Budapest kelenford to Prague, but our hotel is just behind Budapest deli, can we board at deli or will we meet a jobsworth over the six min duration?

To update: no issues. Still no ticket check an hour into journey, Thanks everyone

There's no ticket control on RegioJet trains.

It's the same price and RJ crew start checking after Kelenföld. But you can also rebook at no cost (but I wouldn't try it if the train is almost full and you cannot find other seats you like, sometimes it is buggy)

They are unlikely to check between these two stations. They usually start checking when the passengers settled down, after leaving Budapest.

Mine hasn’t even been checked once, not sure if there are any conductors at all lol

they normally don't control tickets as their system is different from other train companies. Conductors see in their system which seats are reserved, and they only control tickets if they see someone occupying a non-reserved seat or they are asking for proof for discounted tickets (e.g. student ID).

Don't worry, you can definitely board at Deli, it doesn't make a difference in your ticket price/reservation. They just automatically offer the ticket from Kelenföld to buy since it's an international train station.

Off: Arent the trains to Prague leaving from Bp Keleti and going towards Parkany?

Máv trains do, RegioJet travels via Vienna.

Two weeks ago we travelled to Prague. They did not even check our tickets during the whole travel...(12 hour) I think you will be fine.

I think you will be fine

The first time I hear/see the word jobsworth. TIL! Thx!

I used to do this, somehow the app defaults to Kelenfold. Same price.
You can check in the app if the seat is available between Deli and Kelenfold :)
But no worries, you'll be fine.

I think it's unlikely but if you want to play it safe there are many MÁV trains to Kelenföld.

Well, what does the regiojet website say?
